Pearce Auctioneers faced off against the Oshawa Canadiens here in Port Perry. The Canadiens took a 1-0 lead ear- ly in the game but Port's goalie, Mike Pashley, again making many great saves, kept them scoreless un- til late in the third period. The Port players made many great rushes but were unable to put one by the Oshawa goaltender until early in the third period when Chad Kearns scored unassisted. This tied the game 1-1. But the Canadiens came back and scored two quick ones. Down 3-1, Port's Chad Kearns who played a super game, scored his second of the night, the assist go- ing to Sandy Mark, with only 58 seconds remaining in the game. Then coach Spencley pulled Port's netminder for an extra foreward. This kept the crowd one the edge of Tweens win 8-2 Chris Allen Aluminum Tweens controlled the game against Ajax from start to finish. At the end of the first period, the score was 2-0 for Port Perry with the final score showing 8-2. The girls played as a team with each of them racking up points for themselves either through goals or assists. Linda Crawford scored 3 goals for Port Perry with one goal each going to Lisa Levy, Danielle Cooper, Nicole Slack, Nicky Beare and Heather Lawrence. 3 assists went to Heather Lawrence, 2 each to Nicole Slack, Christine Mueller, and Linda Crawford and one each going to Lisa Levy, Sylvia Durward and Nicki Beare. Jenny Crawford played a good game between the posts. The next game will be in Whitby at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 21. Despite their valiant efforts, the Auctioneers failed to score and the game ended in a 3-2 loss for Port On Friday, December 13, the Mal- mont Farm Atoms hosted Stouff- ville and skated to a 1-1 tie. In the first period the opposition wasted no time as they scored their only goal only 20 seconds into the game. The second period saw lots of skating and good hockey skills but neither club could find an opening between the pipes. Great game, guys. Atoms tie 1-1 In the third period the Green Machine finally tied the game at the 12:42 mark when Jason Cochrane scored on a well earned penalty shot. This game was a well played hockey game by both clubs as they showed lots of desire and hustle.
