H | | } 3 Ee To A Np MORN WAM iH Alzheimer Society receives Health grant The Alzheimer Society of Durham will receive $28,355 a year from the Ministry of Health to run a new pro- gram to provide educational and family support services in the com- munity, Health Minister Murray Elston announced recently. Program staff will provide the "services to the families of people " with'Alzheimers disease and related disorders. They will work throughout the region, in centres in- cluding Ajax-Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, Port Perry and northern Durham, running workshop ses- sions and making information available. '""The aim is to increase, knowledge and awareness of the disease, and give family members a supportive outlet to help them 4 ~--Cope with the progressively deteriorating nature of Alzheimer's and the stresses involved," Mr. Elston said.
