Borelians get ready for 'The Murder Room' CAROLE MACSEIL Carole has been involved with community theatre in the Durham Region for .15 years, but "The Murder Room" (opening Feb. 21) will be her first play for the Borelians. Acting and directing are her chosen areas of interest, having worked with Whitby Theatre O.L.T., Pickering Players Hern ate Dinner Theatre, and ight Productions. Character hn are her favourite, such as Ed- na in "The Prisoner of 2nd Ave."", Golde in "Fiddler on the Roof", Martha in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf," and Monica in '"'Cheaters." Although the stage is Carole's priority, she has also done some radio commercials, and some T.V. You may see her in "Women in Prison' (CBC), "Shack Chamber" (CHCH), and "Return of Perry Mason." Carole has many varied personal and employment interests, in- cluding real estate, investment firms, modelling and creative writing. She hopes to write a play within the next year. The Borelians are pleased to have her in "The Murder Room." JANIS PASHLEY Janis has been a member of the Borelians for some time, having done much behind the scenes work. 'Her role in "The Murder Room" will be her second role on stage, the first being Miss Bricker in "The Hand That Cradles The Rock'. Numerous plays have benefitted from her work on costumes and makeup, and she has also served on the Borelians Board involved in advertising. Many other organizations and fashion shows have benefitted from Janis' boundless energy as both she and her, family have been heavily in- volved in community efforts. In the midst of this, Janis found the time to become a mother once again bringing her family to a total of five children. Some of these other pur- suits are skiing, dancing, music, and seasonal sports.. She has earned some piano diplomas and eight medals for dancing. Janis enjoys the challenge of per- forming her best in each role she undertakes both on and off the stage. Her energy will be a definite asset to "The Murder Room."
