Baseball season will soon be here and coaches have already volunteered to work with the Squirt and Pee Wee girls' teams. Coaches Petites coast to easy tie On Sunday April 6, 1986 the Bruton's IDA Petites hosted their parents in an exhibition game and tied them at 5-6. Fourteen parents and two brothers faced the girls. From the opening whistle it was evi- dent that both teams were out to win. It was the parents who got on the scoreboard first on a goal by Dar- ryl Dutkewich. Rick Parliament made the score 2-0 before Lyndsay Dutkewich from Kim Poppleton and then Lyndsay from Amy Parlia- ment tied the score. Amy from Lyndsay then gave us the lead for a couple of minutes. Lloyd Morden from Rick Parliament tied the game at 3-3 near the end of the first period. Seconds into the second period Denna Lovering from Chrissy Hicken and then Amy from Jennifer Morden gave us a 2 goal lead. However, Lloyd scored again and the score remained 54 for most of the period until Lloyd scored his third goal. Although the parents tried, they couldn't get another goal past Tracy Pelow who made some good stops. Todd, you made some good stops while playing in net for the parents. I'm sure the parents now realize the game isn't as easy as it seems. Special thanks go to Rick, Carol, Val, Todd, Bruce, Darryl, Joan D, Rita, Janice, Mark, Nancy, Terry, Lloyd, John, Dennis and Joan P for such a great game. Thanks to Jan for going on the bench. We'll see you again next year! Don't forget the annual Ringette Banqu t in Blackstock at 5:30 on Saturday, April 19. See you there! L.L.B.O.
