'Regional Manager David Findlay was on hand when the Port Perry Royal Bank branch presented prizes to the winners of its recent col- ouring contest. Brooke McLaughlin, 5, and Gar- field LeFort, 11, placed first in the two age categories of the contest and received $5 sav- ing accounts and Ernie the Expo Robots for their trouble. Forty-one children entered the contest, which closed for entries on May 28th. Entries were judged by two artists and an outside judge. Summer tutoring for children available through Durham Y The Durham Region Family YM- CA is again offering its excellent Summer Tutoring Program in Mathematics, Reading Comprehen- sion, Spelling, Language and Phonics for children currently enrolled in Grades 1 through 8 in the Durham Region. This program has been offereu for the past 10 summers and has receiv- ed enthusiastic response from both parents and students. Class sizes of no more than 6 give the students the opportunity to review past year's work and to practice skills in those subject areas which may become lost over the long summer months. There are two three-week sessions of summer tutoring. Session One: July 2 to July 22, 1986; Session Two: July 23 to August 13, 1986. Students come for three hours per week for either Math or Reading Comprehen- sion (reading classes include work in spelling, language and/or phonics if necessary). Thus, if a student is enrolled in both Math and Reading he/she would have six hours of classes per week. The program will be located at Henry Street High School in Whitby, R.S. McLaughlin Public School, Central Park Collegiate and Eastdale Collegiate in Oshawa, Dunbarton High School and Picker- ing High School in Pickering, Lord Durham Public School in Ajax, Port Perry High School in Port Perry and Uxbridge High School in Uxbridge. The same program is also available in French for students enrolled in the French Immersion program and in the core French pro- gram. The locations for the French programs are in Pickering at Dun- barton High School for Session One and at O'Neill Collegiate in Oshawa for Session Two. The cost for the program is $50 per subject per session or $95 for two subjects per session. CRIME | STOPPERS Durham Regional Crime Stoppers is asking for the Public's assistance in solving a number of vicious Sexual Assaults which have occurred in the Pickering & Whitby areas. Over the past 3 years, during the summer months, women have been punched in the face, threatened with violence, forced to their | hands & knees and Sexually Assaulted. The most recent attack occurred in the Dixie Road North area "of Pickering on June 2, 1986 at 2:40 P.M., when the assailant also stole a Credit Card & Cash. It is felt that one male is responsible for these attacks and is described as: Male, white, 5'7" - 5'9"" - aged 25/30 yrs., 150/160 lbs., muscular build, short dark brown hair with a dark moustache.
