In spite of many problems and much unrest - we are proud to be Cana- dian: - proud of our heritage - this Canada of ours is a great land - one of the finest! I am glad 'to be a Canadian! Caesarea Card Game This past Wednesday evening at the Caesarea Centre a fine atten- dance was on hand and the winners are: First prize - Anne Harran with 90. Second prize - Glenn Dean 89. Low score - Minnie Urquhart with 42. The lovely lunch was provided by Shirley Lacey and Joyce Dobson and served by Anne Harran, Susan Larocque and Irene Train. Jim Emerton had 14 lone hands for the. month of June. Congratulations to all! On Wednesday evening again for an interesting game. Try to attend! Caesarea Community Church A very fine attendance at the friendly Caesarea Church on Sun- day last, with Rev. Dr. W.H. Crawford conducting the service. Kevin and Jerry Adams from the Calvin Seminary, Michigan, USA who are assisting at the church dur- ing the summer opened with a children's chorus, 'This is the day the Lord has made."' Other splendid numbers were sung by the children throughout the service. Kevin presented an excellent ser- mon re, 'The Resilience of Faith" based on scripture II Corinthians 4:16 and Ch. 5, read by Daniel Pugh Jr. A lovely rio was enjoyed - sung by Kevin and Jerry Adams and Kathy Tromans. The capable organist was Jerry Adams. Outdoor Service Many Nestleton folk joined in at the annual outdoor service held for the Blackstock charge on Sunday. This year the service was **hosted"' by Ivan and Margaret Mountjoy, at their lovely farm home with a splen- did attendance. Bob and Rebecca Helston of Blackstock, led the singing with Bob accompanying on his guitar. They also sang a duet, which was enjoyed by the assembly. During the children's theme, Rev. Dale Davis asked the children to each bring him a leaf. He commented on how each leaf was different just like each per- son. A fine service. Families in the News Mrs. Neta Fish, Nestleton, was a Wednesday overnight guest with Jim and Audrey Leishman and family of Reaboro and attended grandson Michael's Graduation Ceremony held in the Ops Com- munity Centre with a large atten: dance. A very impressive evening' Our wa. mest congratulations to Michael - a fine student! On Sunday evening, fifteen fami- ly members were present at Neta's | home for a birthday celebration. Those present were: Calvin and Yvonne Holland, Chad, Craig and Alanna Dawn of Bowmanville, Jim and Audrey Leishman, Michael, Jamie and William of Reaboro, Karen Bannister and friend Jack, Keith and Rhonda Bannister and baby Nicole, all of Peterborough. Daughter Marlene was unable to at- tend. Those celebrating were Karen and Chad. A great family party with all the trimmings! Happy Birthday to the celebrants! Arthur and Barbara Weir celebrated their 20th Wedding An- niversary on June 25th - David and Regenia Walker celebrated their 7th Wedding Anniversary on June 23rd - and Russell and Edda Bowman celebrated their 51st on Sunday, June 29. They say they enjoyed the personal attention from teachers they received all year but regret one thing--no boys in the class.
