The excitement begins at 7:00 p-m. on Friday and Saturday, July - 4th and 5th. The engines will soon be revving up for the contest to see who _ owns the mightier machine. Why not come and watch the challenge"? On Friday you can watch the Stock 4X4 trucks, vintage tractors «those over 25 years old), pro-stock tractors, strock tractors 7,500 Ib., local tractors and the ear-blasting modified tractors and trucks finishing up with the flashy highway tractors. Saturday is also noisy for a while with the modified tractors and trucks re-appearing-as well as the Pro-Stock tractors. The Stock trac- tors from 10,000 lbs. and will also draw for prizes. The evening's finale is the Saturday Night Special where anything on wheels can pull--and believe me, we mean anythiny!! Admission is only $3 for adults and $1 for children under 12 for all this - fun. If you're a John Deere owner you'll especially enjoy the const: 1t (and informative chatter of o emcee Harvey Graham. The meeting was opened by the presi- dent followed by the singing of O'Canada. We had two visitors, one from England who was Flossie McNeenly's sister. Business was in order. ' We crowned our new King and Queen," Marion and Burnsell Webster. Many thanks goes to Mable and Fred Days - our outgoing King and Queen. Another great plesure we shared was the presentation of a lovely pla- que to Win Philip, our retiring choir leader. We also had a contest of the newlywed game, under the supervi- sion of Marion King. After all of this coffee, tea and birthday cake was served by the June group. Then we finished up the day with a pot luck supper. a There will be a euchre every 'Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Latcham Centre through July-Aug. So this is it till fall.
