At the local bowling green, sixteen teams were on hand from Peter- boro, Oshawa, Lindsay, Cannington, Whitby and Port Perry cumpeted for the trophy, with the rink of: Phyliss McMillans - Oshawa - win- ning, Florance Lidster - Oshawa - 2nd, Dorothy Nicholson - Oshawa - 3rd, Clara Martyn - Port Perry - 4th, and Ethel Cochrance - Peterbcro - 5th. Deserving special mention for con- tributions above and beyond are: Larry & Sandy Adamcryck for driv- ing many, many miles to play very well for the team; Beth and Tony Tenwesteneind for juggling babies and timetables to make it all possi- ble; Laurie Cooper, who along with Beth, were the only ones to play all 8 matches; Ralph "Rocket" Ballard, co-captain, whose meteoric shots blew holes in the opposition; Diane Burt for loyally sailing home from "The Islands' twice; Ken Elliott for saying 'what do you mean we play tonight?"' and Sophia Brendon, the Hair Band Queen, for her 2-handed back-hand and diverse hair styles.
