The daycare program is currently operating and the nursery school program will commence in September on the Wednesday following Labour Day. These preschool programmes are planned to meet the necds of the individual child between the ages of two-and a half to five years. Daily activities in- clude play activities of the child's own choosing. These include puzzles, playdough, dramatic (dress-up) play, collage pasting, as well as cognitive, printing and creative activities. Circle time, an enjoyable time for the children is when they have the opportunity to sing their favourite songs and learn new ones. Story time is an integral part of circles. The nursery schools offer the preschool child the opportunity to socialize with others his or her own age. This socialization takes place many times during the day as children interact through their play activities. Nursery schools are held Monday and Wednesday, 9:30 - 11:30 and 1:15 - 3:15; Tuesday and Thurs- day, 9:30 - 11:30 and 1:15 - 3:15 in Port Perry at the YMCA building; and Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 -- 11:30 in Prince Albert at the Prince Albert United Church. Parents are encouraged to assist on a monthly basis within the programmes. Ex- act times are to be arranged with the nursery teacher at the com- mencement of the programme. Registrations for both locations will be taken at the YMCA office in Port Perry. The name La Leche, is Spanish and means "the milk." A non- sectarian, non-profit organization, the League's purpose is to help en- courage "good mothering through breast-feeding."
