Chamber brekkie The Whitby Chamber of Com- merce will be serving breakfast to downtown visitors on Whitby Mer- chant's Heritage Day. Pancakes and sausages will be served by member of the Chamber in the Brooklin Cycle parking lot at Dundas and Perry Streets, from 10 a.m. to noon on September 13. The breakfast will kick off an afternoon of special events arrang- ed by the Downtown Board of Management to celebrate Whitby's heritage. Admission to the breakfast is $3 for adults and $1.50 for children. The Downtown Heritage Day breakfast replaces the Chamber of Commerce Jamboree, which was held on the first Sunday after Labour Day for the past two years. The Chamber will not be holding a jamboree this year because its liability insurance will not permit it to hold athletic games, said Brian Winter, Secretary-Manager. The Jamboree was originally scheduled for September 7, and the Chamber will be meeting soon to decide if it will be able to continue to hold such events, said Mr. Winter. The Chamber of Commerce Jam- boree was first held at Heydenshore Park in 1984 as a family fun day to celebrate Ontario's Bicentennial. ~~ Church Services Columbus United Church Rev.
