Action-packed playing in Atom House League We had another action packed Saturday afternoon of excellent goal tending and hard defensive playing by the boys in the Atom House League. . Whitby Auto Wreckers 2 Lake Scugog Lumber 1 Lake Scugog took an early lead on a goal from Kevin Pearce who made a good rush on net with a super pass from Steve Stiles. Whitby Auto Wreckers evened the score at the 11:04 mark of the se- cond period with a goal from Alan Calder, assists going to Brandon Puckrin and Neil Hancock. The Whitby Auto Wreckers Mike Pothier, Andrew Pereman and Nicki Beare made some good defen- sive plays. On Lake Scugog Lumber for- wards Tobe Shewan, Kevin Pearce and Karen Kett, Whitby Auto Wreckers went ahead with a goal from Ritchie Tripp and the assists going to Mike Labanovich and Chad Venning. Kyle Simms played a great game in goal for Scugog as did Greg Rankin for Whitby. The team on defense for Lake Scugog of Steve McDonald and Steve Stiles is goiug to be a real threat to any team in the coming weeks. Gord Lewis Motors 4 Port Perry Lions 0 Mike Pashley scored the first goal unassisted for Gord Lewis. Mike Leach and Ian McClelland of Port Perry Lions had some excellent op- portunities but couldn't put it past netminder Danny Bycok who made some sensational saves for Gord Lewis. Louie Whitfield scored for Gord Lewis with assists going to Mike Pugh and Mark Jansen. Although Mike Staniland and Brad Strickert made some good defensive moves, John Hall scored with assists going to Louie Whitfield and Mark Cosway. Port Perry Lions Josh Wilson, Jason Philips, and Mike Tripp did some excellent team work but could not put the rubber between the pipes. Louie Whitfield scored his second goal with assists going to Mark Cosway and Paul Bycok. UAW. 17 Marj Tripp 2 Jeremy Norton opened the scor- ing for UAW with a low wrist shot with assists going to Jason Dunkley and Kent Jamieson. Ryan Ridgeway made an outstan- ding rush on a pass from Garfield Lefort to put UAW ahead 2-0. Marj Tripp's Jeff Fletcher and Adam McTaggart made some good defensive moves but could not hold Jeremy Norton from scoring again with assists going to Derek Ander- son and Robbie Romano. Robbert McEahern scored again for UAW with the assist going to Todd Moore. In the early stages of the second period UAW scored on a goal from Garfield Lefort assisted by Ryan Ridgeway. With some hard slugging by Marj Tripp's Graham Holt put them on the scoreboard with assists going to Darrin Hope and Mike Nichols.
