PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, October 28, 1986 -- 11 NIKI'S GOURMET SERVICE EQUESTRIAN CENTRE | Port Perry MURRAY Lawn Bowling Club HOUSE HAUGEN'S BAR-B-QUE I | i | More than 500 people showed up at the new Immaculate Conception Catholic School Sunday afternoon to officially open the new school. Susan Morrison, from the Ministry of Education, was on hand to mark the occasion, as well as the Most Reverend R.B. Clune, Chairman of the Board Sally Longo, trustee Catherine Tunny, MPP Ross Stevenson, Mayor Jerry Taylor, Father Alfred Grima, and Principal Noel Woods. PPHS reunion committee hunts for former students Over 5000 brochures were sent out last week as a team of hard work- ing volunteers spent many hours searching out addresses of former P.P.H.S. students to inform them of the first-ever full-scale school re- union. Grade nine class lists for each year were used so that as many ex- students as possible could be con- tacted - however - some duplications and omissions were unavoidable. All former students and their partners are invited and the committee hopes that anyone who does not receive a brochure within the next two weeks will contact Barb Carnegie 985-3651, Barb Bradbury 985-2149, Jeanne Jackman 985-7227 or write Box 600, Port Perry, Ontario. LOB INO. Brochures are also available at the 'House of Howard," Queen Street in Port Perry. Please give your name, present address and the year in which you entered Port Perry High School. Some assistance is still needed to locate former students, especially those who attended in the years 1972 to 1982. Anyone able to help with this information should contact the above named people. The re-union, which will be held June 26, 27 and 28, 1987 will feature a number of events such as sock hops, assemblies and basketball games during the day and dances on Saturday evening. A "meet-the teachers" session is planned for Saturday afternoon and a brunch on Sunday morning should round out a weekend of reminiscence and renewed friendships. An interesting feature of the re- union will be the display of memorabilia. Many items have already been offered which will enhance the nostalgic feeling of the homecoming. Anyone having items to contribute to the display such as pictures. school uniforms, clothing from a particular era, badges, crests or trophies is asked to call Barb Carnegie 985-3651. Great care will be given to cataloguing, safe keeping and returning all items on IF YOUR AD WAS HERE ... over 12,000 people could have read it this week!
