PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, October 28, 1986 -- 3 Children's author a hit at library appearance Author Tim Wynne Jones was a smash hit during his appearance before local youngsters at Scugog Public Library last Saturday afternoon. : All eyes were bright and giggles were evident as Wynne Jones read aloud from Mischief City, one of his latest novels that should be hitting the bookstands shortly, along with I'l Make You Small, another new work. Wynne Jones, a resident of Toron- 10, is well known to younger readers through his two earlier books, Zoom at Sea and Zoom Away. He published his first children's book, Madeline and Ermadillo in 1974 and was not totally convinced a writing career was for him until 1980 when his initial adult mystery navel Odds End won the Seal First Novel Award. Along with the award came a nice $50,000 cash prize, the incentive that decided Wynne Jones that writing was for him. eo Hassle-free eo Christmas Gifts e By phone or appt. 985-8371 I'll shop for you!
