Light a Christmas Prince Albert and Area News by Earline Armstrong Don't forget on Christmas Eve, the Candlelight Service at the United Church in Port Perry and Christmas morning a family service at Prince Albert United Church at 10 o'clock. Glad to report that Stan Grills is home from the Toronto General Hospital. Keep improving Stan, we are all thinking of you. Tuesday evening, Dec. 9th was one of the bad days for our weather with icy roads and lots of rain, but it didn't keep 16 Prince Albert U.C.W. members and 2 visitors from enjoying a pot-luck supper at the United Church. The Youth Group from Port Perry United Church performed for us and did an excellent job. If you're ever in need of entertainment just remember this group -- they are good! Business was very short but do remember January 11th, we of the U.C.W. celebrate an anniversary and do so by performing at church that Sunday. Jane Litt will be guest speaker. January meeting will be on the 14th in the church basement. Hope to see you then. Better health wishes to Florence Smith and Lila Clark, who are a bit under the weather. Mabel and Hugh Strong would like to say "thank you" to the Prince Albert U.C.W. for the lovely Mum plant sent to them. You deserve it Mabel. Don't forget Dorothy Hope on Dec. 24th, it's her birthday and with all this Christmas buying, she needs a big smile and lots of happy Birth- day wishes. Thursday evening, Dec. 11th saw ten tables of euchre players at the Prince Albert Hall. Ladies high was Pearl Gostick, second was Marie Geer and low was Reta Storie and over on the men's side, well, I am disappointed -- they needed the girls again, but what man doesn't, high was Mildred Thompson, second was Owen Gray and low was Pat Norton. candle Lucky draw went to Owen Gray ion, that is -- he drew his own number second time around. Thurs- day night was sure your night aye Owne! See you again next Thurs. Dec. 18th then not again til Jan. 8th. Got to squeeze Santa Claus and Baby New Year in there. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Olsen are home after a three week stay in Hawaii. They stayed with Mr. and Mrs. . Ralph Olsen while there. Shelley Lamonde was home with her parents for the weekend. Sincere sympathy of the com- munity of Prince Albert to Grace Cherrie in the passing of her brother (Turn fo page 11) Last chance to enter Star's Lights contest By the time you read this, the Christmas Lights contest could very well be judged, decided upon and over with.
