Organizers are hoping it: will be when snowmobilers and cross coun- try ski buffs ride and glide February 8 with all proceeds going to help the physically disabled through the Easter Seal Society. Organizers are hoping that this - year's ski and snowmobile event raises $25,000 as that would put the "Port Perry Snowarama over the $200,000 mark for the combined ten year total. "Our goal is $25,000 this year," said Tom Radford of the Port Perry . Rotary Club, whose members are handling publicity, registration and ' all the paper work for this year's | Junior 'C' Hocke SCUGOG ARENA Snowarama. - Mr. Radford said the Skiarama for cross country skiers will be held for the first time on February 8 at Trillium Valley, south of Port Perry on the Oshawa Road. The owners have waved their usual trail fees for skiers with pledge sheets for Snowarama. Registration for skiers will be held at Trillium Valley on Feb. 8 from 8:00 A.M: to 11:00 A.M. As for the snowmobilers, the registration will take place at the Latcham Centre from 8 to 11 A.M. on February 8 and riders will follow the 100 km course set up and prepared by Central Ontario Regional Snowmobile Association reps. Port Perry Lions tied the game within a minute on a goal by Kevin Ellis assisted by Brad Striekert and Shannen Leslie. This ended the first period of exciting-hockey with both . teams tied. Jeremy Norton scored again for U.A.W. in the last moments of the second period assists going to Ryan Ridgway and Jason Dunkley. It wasn't long and Gord Lewis went ahead again with Louis Whitfield scoring his fourth of the match. Clay Scott and Matt Coyne picking up the assists. After some good end to end hustle from both teams Kent Jamieson scored for Marj Tripp on a pass from Darrin Hope and Adam McTaggart. In the second round Fairman eliminated Howsam while Griffen, who had i" bye 'in the first round, 'dropped Howey to the B-side in an extra end. This like the other two games gave the fans some excellent Satur- day afternoon hockey. It sure would 'give one the indication the playoffs are going to be something to wateh 'from this fine group of boys and girls who are so evenly matched in their talents and abilities.
