Both teams were passing and checking well. In the 2nd period Stouffville went ahead on an unfortunate deflection off defenseman Jason Towns' stick. Fortunately for Jason. he was able to get the equalizer back for Port on a pass from Mark Andrews and Jan Heyes. There were no goals scored in the 3rd period and although Port out-shot Stouffville 29 to 22, the 'Legionaires were pleased to go home with a tie. On Friday January 16th and Saturday the 17th we had back to back games with Lindsay. The first game was at home in a hard hitting game. OR Pee Wees tie 3-3 Heyes and the other to Jan Heyes ~ from Mark Andrews and Jeff Parry. Final score Lindsay 6 - Port Perry 3. We then travelled back to Lindsay the next day and with an all-out team effort, defeated Lindsay 6-0. The offense and defense played well and showed what this team is capable of. In the first period Jan Heyes put the first goal in the top corner, when the Lindsay goalie went down on a play from Jason Cochrane and Ken Winslow. Then, with a powerplay Ken Winslow found the mark from Jason Cochrane and Jan Heyes. Early in the 2nd period Jason Cochrane blasted one in the net on an end to end rush. Later in the period Jason Cochrane found the mark again on a pass from Ken and Jan. Jason Cochrane then got his hat trick with assists going to Ken Winslow and Jason Towns.
