Bt eR = About 15 young people successful- ly completed the day long course ® and examination for a snowmobile operator's licence: last Saturday afternoon at the home of Marion Mrs. Lee is a licenced instructor with the Port Perry Snowmobile Club and she notes that anyone bet- ween the ages of 12 and 16 must complete the course and get the operator's licence before they can legally drive a snowmobile. Children under 12 years of age can operate a snowmobile only on their own property. This game proved to be a solid team effort for the Green Machine -as they showed that team play will win hockey games. ' On Friday, January 30, the Port Perry Atoms played host to Ux- bridge in an exhibition game. The - Malmont Atoms showed great con- trol as they dominated the visiting club and won the game by a score of 5-1. In the first period Jeff Card scored the opening goal assisted by fweens On Saturday, the Allen Aluminum Tweens travelled to Fenelon Falls for a good hard skating game. Although the score was 12-0 for Port Perry, Fenelon Falls never gave up. The Alien Aluminum Tweens played as a team and that gave them the edge. Nicki Beare made some super saves and earned her shut-out. Con- ~ gratulations Nicki. On Sunday, the Allen Aluminum Tweens met the Markham B's for an exhibition game. Port Perry came on flying and scored 2 quick goals. Markham came back strong to tie it. Each team scored one more goal ending the first period at 4 all. Once again Port pulled ahead. However, Sean McEnaney. In the second period Jeff Andréws made the score 2-0 as he popped his goal unassisted. In the third period the Malmont Farm Atoms scored 3 more goals to end the game with a 5-1 victory. On Saturday, January 31, the Mal- mont Farm Atoms travelled back to Port Hope for the third game of the series. Midgets lost a hard fought game to Sunderland 3-1. Both teams played a cautious first period, close checking and hard hit- ting game. Then in the second period Sunderland drew first on Marshall's goal, and about two minutes later Lawerenson scored to make it 2-0 before the Canadian Tire got on the score sheet. Jamie Men- zies scored with Keith Roberge pick- ing 'up the assist. The Tiremen put all kinds of pressure on the Sunderland boys but couldn't find the open net.
