12° -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tues., February 10, 1987 High school accepts Rick Hansen poster TE EE TE I I Port Perry High School was the happy recipient of one of only 15 specially autographed posters from Rick Hansen, commemorating his Man In Motion tour. The school's student council received the poster after making a $500 donation to Hansen's cause, spinal cord research. Teacher Dave Robinson, also a i iat Pid sts Kinsmen Club member who helped' organize Hansen's stop in Durham, presented the poster to the school, . where it hangs in the general office. Council president Kristy Armour says the donation was made because Rick Hansen is. promoting "a good cause," but as Dave Robin- son explains, "He is an inspiration." On Feb. 22, there will be a Pot- luck lunch following Church after which there will be a sleigh-riding party or social hour. A beautiful fern and fern stand were placed in the Sanctuary and dedicated in memory of a wonder- ful husband, father and grandfather Howard Ashton. I understand great granddaughter Alexis Bradbury also attended the service. Following this the family all anthro with "their mother Ruth Ashton at the family home for lunch. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Asling, and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Brown of Greenbank were also guests. Our friends who visited Mexico last week have arrived home safe- ly and had a wonderful holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Watson who had been visiting her brother. Nicholas Cud- dra and his wife and Mr. Anthony , Cuddra of Richmond Hill accom- panied them - have also arrived + home safely after a lovely vacation. Ross and Barbara Evans visited Guy Cole of Ravenshoe on Friday evening. Heather Munro entertained several girlfriends after school last Friday. . We are pleased to learn that Lloyd Pogue is recovering nicely. Several of the community attend- ed the Farm Machinery Show at the International building in Toronto last week. We were sorry to hear of the pass- ing of Doug McKinley. Our sym- pathy to sister-in-law Hilda Bailey and family and sister-in-law Dora Geer and her family. We are pleased to tell you Walter Asling in Ajax and Gordon Jeffery in Ajax are both Showing some Improvement.
