February 24, 1987 A man being held in Nova Scotia on fraud charges will likely be returned to Durham next week to face charges of abduction, theft and more fraud Warrants for the arrest of Barry Rice, 29, formerly of Raglan, have been circulated since December, 1986 when the accused left for Nova Scotia, allegedly with a 15 year old girl SAY area As a result, Durham Regional Police have charged the man with abduction, as well as theft in connec: tion with a missing vehicle, and various cheque frauds. % Nova Scotia police apprehended Fraud suspect returned Rice when he was charged with stealing property from a house he was living in. He is being held in their custody until a Durham detec- tive goes east next week to bring him back. Although charges have already been laid, a court date will not be set until his return. v LAST CHANCE! -- OBITUARY -- RHODA SOPHIA LARMER Rhoda Sophia Larmer passed away at the Bowmanville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 3, 1987. She was in her 84th year. Rhoda Larmer was born on December 15, 1903. She was the daughter of the late Josiah Avery and Margaret Cherry. She received her education at Burketon, Ontario. On November 14, 1928 she mar- ried Russell Larmer. For 43 years they farmed 1n Cartwright Township. In 1973 they retired to Blackstock. Rhoda was a devoted wife and mother. She was also a faithful member of Cadmus and Blackstock United Church and a member of the U.C.W. Rhoda was the beloved wife of the late Russell Larmer (1984). Dearly loved mother of Don and his wife Doris of Peterborough, Joyce and 'her husband Norman Gibson of Bowmanville, Audrey Gibson of Oshawa, Lawrence of Barrie. Ray and his wife Diane of Pickering and Bernice Pascoe of Calgary Dear grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, sister of Florence Larmer of Blackstock and predeceased by Iva"Brunt (1978) and Gordon Avery (1980), sister-in- law of Edna Larmer of Blackstock | and Walt and Marion of Havelock. .
