} } Snowmobile mishap claims Scugog Island man A 33 year old Scugog Island man is dead following a snowmobile ac- cident on the lake near his home late Saturday night. Daniel Mark Dalton (Danny) died in Port Perry's Community Memorial Hospital at 2:45 a.m. Sun- day, about three hours after the accident. According to Durham Regional Police, Dalton was out snowmobil- ing on the lake with a friend, Kevin Bath of Locust Hill, when the two became separated. Unable to find Dalton, Bath returned to his friend's home hoping to find him there. When, he discovered he hadn't returned, he went out searching. Shortly after, police say Bath found Dalton lying conscious in the snow near Amberside Dr. at Port- view Beach. With the help of Dalton's wife Lin- da and her sister Elaine Visser, Bath attempted to place the injured man on a tobaggan but was unsuc- cessful. Parents ask for school sidewalk The Scugeg Township council roads committee will be studying a request for sidewalks leading to Cartwright Central Public School in Blackstock. The request for the sidewalks was made to Township council February 16 by members of the School's Parent Advisory Association.
