Perry at the former Bowling Green on the last Friday, 7 pm. to 8:30 p.m, then back to the Church for snacks and hot drinks There is still time to consider the Pot Luck supper at Scugog United, by Mrs Earl Reader 6 pm this Wed , followed by the African pictures at 7:30 pm The new Youth Group at Scugog United got a good start on Sun. after Church when 11 boys and girls stayed for the vared program and agreed to meet again the 4th Sun in March: More members are welcome When we head into March next Sun. the Scugog United will welcome you with the Annual pan- cake Breakfast at 7 am and on, sponsored by the Friendship UCW prior to the regular Church service Perhaps 1t 1s a little early to an- nounce the annual St Patrick's dance for March 21 But it is so popular, you may wish to order tickets in advance by calling 985-2064 or 2941 You will remember this dance is sponsored by the Jeffrey family in- cluding Bonnie Bell to raise money for the Kidney Foundation as a method of expressing their. ap- preciation for help received for their kidney ailments. The "Head" UCW will meet Mar. 4th at the home of Helen Redman. Some of the ""Head" ladies are busy quilting lately in preparation for the Craft Show, May 9th. Patients glad to see volunteers by Luella Graham The Hospital Ladies Auxihary held their meeting on Monday February 16 with 14 members present in The president opened the meeting with all repeating 'the Auxiliary Prayer, and then welcomed allon a very cold day, and then read a very appropriate poem. The minutes of the last meeting were then read by Joyce and ac- cepted. The treasurers and git shop reports were then given. The coyr. Sec. had sent out 23 letters'and one Thank-you note. and had received one thank-you note Again some lovely knitted articles had been turned in. We do "thank" those who give of their time to this. work Thelma reported on the work of the volunteers. the volunteers are taking the cart around again, and the patients are very glad to see this service. Mr Brown was then welcomed, and he told us that there was some work to be finished vet and the x-ray machine should be ready for use about the middle of March. We look forward to seeing you all at our next meeting on March 16. The Association is an umbrella group for approximately two hun- dred and thirty fairs in Ontairo. Mrs. Kelly will be the secretary of a board of fifteen directors representing the fifteen districts across Ontario. One of the primary responsibilities of the secretary is to coordinate the Annual Convention for the Agricultural Societies. The two-day convention was recently held at The Royal York Hotel in Toronto with over fifteen hundred delegates from across Ontario participating. Mrs. Kelly is secretary of the Blackstock Agricultural Society. which will hold their annual fair on August 29th. Pat Fulcher had a good visit with her mother in California but has since suffered from extended cold and complications. Camie Sarhells hoped her medical . problems were improved after spen- ding some time in hospital, but found she had further complications and required extended medication. * Henry and Anne Alstein took their vacation this winter in Colombia, S.A. They found it extremely hot and did not enjoy the black sand of the beachers, but an otherwise plea- sant change. However, Henry upon returning home, contacted a virus which knocked him out for a couple of weeks. Friday night Clara and Joe Dowson started out for Port Elgin on Lake Huron, a 2 or 3 hour drive from here. Their purpose was to at- tend the funeral on Sat. of Miss Margaret Muir, a cousin of Clara's late father, Christie Hardy. On the way home they stopped at Mono Mills near Orangeville to visit Joe's cousin, Mrs. Ruth Purdy. The didn't stay long around Orangeville as it appeared they were heading into a snowstorm but left it far behind. Claude Parker was home from Princess Margaret Hospital on the - weekend where he is taking treatments on his throat. We trust he will soon feel better.
