Auctioneers take first game f On Feb. 27 the Novice,No. 1 met Pickering Village for game 2 of this playoff series and easily coasted to a 9-1 victory. Scoring for Port were Sandy Mark 4 goals, 1 assist, Jeremey Geer 2 goals, Jay Tredway 1 goal, 2 assists. Criag Laird and Kenton LeFort 1 goal, 1 assits, Matt Morris 4 assists, Tommy "Chambers 2 assists and Ryan Williams and Jay King 1 assist each. Good work boys. The 3rd game was all Port need- ed to end this best out of 5 series as they once again skated to a 5-0 vic- tory at home. Scoring for Port in this game were Jeremey Geer 1 goal, 2 assists, Tommy Chambers 1 goal, 1 assist, Craig Laird, Kenton LeFort and Timmy Fitzpatrick 1 goal & Matt Morris picking up 1 assist. With this win the J.T. Pearce Auc- tioneers advanced to their next round of playoffs and met up with Picton on Sunday. If this opening game was any indication this series will be filled with exciting, fast skating end to end hockey. The Auctioneers came out strong in the 1st period taking the lead ear- ly in the game off a beautiful goal Tweens over Lindsay On a beautiful, sunny Sunday, March 8th, the Allen Aluminum Tweens trounced Lindsay 15-8 to become the league champions. The girls outplayed Lindsay for a well- deserved win. Scoring for Port Perry were Nicole-Slack 7 goals, 2 assists, Lisa Levy 6 goals, 4 assists, Christine Mueller and Terry Bell scored 1 goal each, Danielle Cooper and Sylvia Durward each assisted 2/times. The team has had a very suc- cessful year winning 26 games, ty- ing 1 and losing only 5. They also won medals in every tournament that they entered. High scorers on our team were Lisa Levy and Nicole Slack who with their accurate shooting in- timidated the other goalies. Our defence consisted of Heather Lawrence, Lisa Toye and Sylvia Durward who need to be commend- ed for their consistent good effort and Nicki Beare in net gave the rest of the team confidence with many dynamic stops. Christine Mueller and Danielle Cooper could always be counted on for a 'Solid contribu- tion. Terry Bell and Laurel Menzies were new to ringette this year but they were a real asset as they im- proved with every outing. Wish the girls luck next weekend as they play in the Regional Tournament. Mens Hockey League A Division tight In game one Crandell's fell into the hands of J&D Carpentry as J&D won by a score of 5-3. Scoring for J&D were Bill Hurst 1 goal, 1 assist: Roger Moase 1 goal, 1 assist; Dave Roth, Colin Asselstine, Glen McCoy, 1 goal each. Other assists to Danny Mitchell, Chris Brain and Brian Samis. Fighting back for Crandell's were Ken Jeffrey, 1 goal, 1 assist: John Kotarba, and Keijo Kinnunen, 1 goal each. Assists to Reg Templeman, Richie LeFort and Ron Jeffrey, 1 assist each. , Game two was a very tight, close checking affair which saw the Galley Fish & Chip and Compton Cable TV. Battle to a 1-1 tie. The lone marker for Galley was Peter Lane from Bob Tarbotton and Mike Adam. Doing the same for Compton was John McMillan from Ron Compton. In game three, BJ Donuts manag- ed to "edge out" Larocque Electric by a score of 7-4. Scoring for BJ's were Bill Bridge, 2 goals, 3 assists: Jim Duncan 3 goals, Ed Olsen 1 goal, 2 assists. Helping out were Dale Bronson and Dave Bourgeois. Counting for Larocque were Doug Bronson 2 goals, 1 assist, Neil Crouter, Ron Zaparaniuk, 1 goal each, Henry Forderer 1 assist. Game four was another hard fought battle which'saw Sportsland and Smiths Contracting finish in a 2-2 tie. Capitalizing for Sportsland were Kelly Lee from Dave Mann, and Dave Mann from John Delorme. Counting for Smiths was Larry Jackson, 2 goals, from Den- nis Anderson and Bob Lee. Scoring for Port were Vern (Pill) Willis from Dan Mason, Pete Morris from Gary Geer, Dave Barky from Bill Willis and John McMillan from Gene Moore. Game two saw the Oldtimers face Uxbridge Blackhawks. John Cook came up with a big game in goal, and shutout the Blackhawks 4 to 0. Scoring for Port were Dave Barky unassisted, Pete Morris from Hub Clark, Dale McNenly from Boh % St. Patrick's Day Dance Slack and Dave Barkey from Don Mason. This moved the Oldtimers to the "A" Division final against Orillia at 7 p.m. This was a close checking game which saw the Port tearm emerge as champions by a 3 to 2 score.
