The large crowd of parents and friends were treated to a superb presenta- tion. Great credit must go to the staff, Mrs. C. Corden, Mrs. L. Elliot, Mrs. S. Hopkins, Mrs. C. Hoyle and Mr. S. Buchanan who worked so hard to produce such an outstanding play. Blackstock has lost still another well esteemed citizen with the pass- ing of John Venning on the weekend after a lengthy illness. Sincere sym- pathy is extended to his wife Dorothy and daughter Joan and her husband Michael Teague and to John's other relatives and many friends. The funeral was held at the Wagg Funeral Chapel on Monday afternoon. They followed the progress of the Blue Jays Training Camp while there. Roy and Shirley Turner returned from a Florida holiday late Sunday night. In last week's news the name of Aileen VanCamp was missed from the group of ladies who enjoved a Florida holiday. Aileen was the guide, the driver and instigator of this escapade. My apologies for this error Doug and Pat Sleep have also returned from 2 holiday in Florida The snow storm caused the Tues- day evening card party to be cancelled. It will continue on its regular day - Tuesday evening. If you enjoy an evening of euchre, plan to attend. On Saturday evening the-Purple Hill neighbours of Bonnie and Laurie Hart held an informal going- away party for them prior to their moving to Markham. Bill and Paula Lishman, George and Marilyn Cochrane, Harvey and Joan Graham enjoyed dinner and even- ing with Laurie and Bonnie wishing them well. On Wednesday evening Aileen VanCamp was surprised by her family with a dinner party in celebration of her 25 anniversary of working in G.M.C. Those attending -the dinner at Krebs Whitby were Percy and Elva VanCamp, Merrill and Norma VanCamp, Keith and Wilma VanCamp, Dale and Janet VanCamp, Jim and Barb Byers, Ken Crawford. Monday to play the teams there. The Blackstock Bruins and Port Perry Oilers tied 4-4 with the local scoring done by Chris Chorostecki (3) and Mike Leach (1) The Cartwright Camadiens defeated the Port Perry Maple Leafs 7-4 with Brendon Agnew: (4), Jay Buma (2) 'and Kendall Chorostecki (1) the local scorers A very successful Easter Parade Fashion Show was held at Blackstock United Church on Satur day afternoon and evening. Con venor Donna Kyte had all details in excellent order. Tallya Moore car- ried out the duties of M.C. in an ex cellent manner while the wsical background was provided by Linda Kyte. Very suitable spring-like decorations were provided by Barry's Flower Shop (Eleanor's Flowers) Barry VanCamp and 1he Balloon House, Anna Forder- McLaughlin. Seventy displayed beautiful fashions by Threads, Mary's Fashions *N' Fabrics and Dor-Jean's all of Port Perry and all commented on by so-- meone from each store. The wide variety of fashions certainly pointed out the large selection found in the clothing area right at home. A very delightful lunch followed each show.
