Mr. and Mrs. Wallace McMillan ffom Orillia visited Mrs. Olive McMillan on Sunday. Also Mr. and Mrs. Don McKean had dinner on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Shadlock. Obituary Sympathy to Mrs. Lillian Truax and David in the passing of Janet Monday morning. Sympathy to the Phoenix family in the sudden passing of Franklin Phoenix. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. The Greenbank evening U.C.W. Unit will be held in the church base- Gordon James Wilson Gordon James Wilson passed away at the Oshawa General Hospital on March 4, 1987. He was in his 75th year. Gordon Wilson was born in Caesarville, Saskatchewan, on August 18, 1912. An electrician by . trade, Gordon worked in the mines in the Kirkland Lake area. He join- ed the army in Val D'Or, Quebec in 1940, served his country overseas in Italy, Holland and Belgium areas and discharged in 1946. He then returned to Canada and owned and operated Port Perry Electric from 1947-1955 with Ben Weiser. He married Leona May DeVitt on January 17,. 1953. They moved-to Oshawa in 1961. Gordon is a past president of ~ LB.E.W. Local 8%4, a member of the Independent Order. of Foresters Court 1248, Oshawa (20 years), and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 419, Port Perry for over 30 years. He retired from Aoadwilie} in 1977. Gordon suffered a severe stroke in 1979 and for the past 3 years endured iailing health. Gordon James Wilson is survived by his beloved wife Leona of Oshawa, brother of Mary Borland of Claremont, Nettie Wilson of Stouff- ville, and Arthur of B.C. Also surviv- ed by many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at the Wagg-MeDermott-Panabaker Funeral Home, Port Perry, -on March 6, 1987. Interment North Nestleton Cemetery. Rev. Ansley Tucker officiated.- Hospital Auxiliary The Port Perry Hospital Ladies . Auxiliary held their meeting 'on Monday April 20th with 18 members present. The president opened the meeting by thanking everyone who had helped in 'any way to make our Spring Fair a good success. The Auxiliary prayer was then repeated, the secretary then gave the report on the lastimeeting, this being accepted. Camille then had a good report from the Tuck Shop. Bonnie Gerrow, reported 9 boys and 5 girls arrived at the hospital since our last meting, also thanked all who had sent in so many pairs of lovely baby booties. Hazel Coates wool convener, thanked all for the lovely baby out- fits and other knitted articles which had been sent in and Hazel has more wool, anyone wishing some. I would be very remiss if we did not say "Thanks'" to our ten volunteers who did an excellent job in waiting on the tea tables at the Spring Fair. Under new business, the Rose Tag Day is coming up on May 8-9. Also the Hospital Board Annual meeting is Wed. June 24 at 8 p.m. a motion. A motion was made by Elaine & seconded by Thelma that we pro- vide refreshments for this meeting. This being carried. The June pot luck luncheon of the Auxiliary is being held June 15, this being followed by an Auction Sale. At this time Betty Hodgins, Tena Demarese and Betty McGarry were introduced and they gave a most in- teresting talk on Canada Fitness Day, being held May 13 and 27th. The Hospital Auxiliary are having a bake sale in the park on May 27th from 124 p.m. On May 25th is the Annual Meeting of the Auxiliary, this being the day our new slate of officers will be installed. Thelma then moved we adjourn -this being seconded by Lucia. Lunch was then served by Camille and Joyce. Ladies do not forget our next meeting is on May 25th. A WORKSHOP PRODUGTION FRIDAY. Star Zimmerman is in Oshawa Hospital, Joyce Howsam has been moved to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. Jack Couperthwaite is still in Ux- bridge Hospital waiting to go to Oshawa. There was some excitement Saturday night on the corner of the 13th concession and Marsh Hill sideroad when a balloon landed. T-Ball will be starting up at the park on Tuesday May 5th at 6:15 p.m. If you have not already registered your child, please be sure to bring the six dollar registration fee. If you have any questions call 985-3225. Saintfield Ladies Lobball team are in need of experienced players over twenty-five -- please phone 985-2010 or 985-3903. Greenbank U.C.W. evening unit held their last meeting on Wednes- day April 1st. Devotion was based on the family and was conducted by Dot Hooker, Charlene Shepherd, Joanne Olivero and Barbara Ward. There was a discussion on topics for the year with some choices choosen. A bake sale is being planned for Friday May 15th at 1:30 in front of the church. On June 7th after the Sunday School Anniversary our group plans to serve lunch. A surprise birthday party was held for Gordon Davis at his son's Mr. and Mrs. Doug Davis in Green- bank on Saturday night.
