Realizing the need for some serious traffic planning in the Water St., Carnegie St. and 7A Highway areas, Scugog council has engaged the firm of Totten, Sims, Hubicki to study and make suggestions to help alleviate some of the problems in this area. At present there is a problem with traffic leaving Port Perry Plaza, and with future developments scheduled for the north side of 7A Highway and further commercial growth on the south side of the highway just east of the present stop lights council has decided it is time to take a close look at this rapidly growing area. Mr. Ron Patchell, an engineer with Totten, Sims, Hubicki presented a preliminary report to council Monday morning outlining some possible solutions to both the traffic problems along 7A Highway 'in the area of the plaza and also some alternatives to the Carnegie Street intersection.
