My idea of keeping in Shape is "the magic of walking" - the exercise that needs no gym - the prescription without medicine - the fountain of "youth that is no legend - the walk is the vacation that doesn't cost a cent. Bridal Shower Of Interest Cathy Olliffe of Caesarea, "hosted" an exciting miscellaneous bridal shower for Valerie Mappin, on Wednesday evening last, with some twenty relatives and office staff on hand for the delightful event. Fred Swann at 10 a.m. with Mrs. Joyce Taylor - the . fine organist. Psalm 145 was read responsively, and from the Living Ed Faith the section was titled, "Our Mission and Unbelief."" Scripture was Isaiah, Ch. 6 and Rev. Swann continued the study of "The Lords Prayer - Hallowed by Thy Name." Respect, reverence and honor are all ways in which we use God's name. Nestleton Sunday School Anniversary Service Held An excellent service on Sunday, May 31 for Nestleton United Sunday School, with a good attendance. This was a big event in the lives of the Sunday School children and their teachers. Superintendent Richard MacKenzie was at his best with his rare sense of humour and his ver- - satility in conducting the service. Wife, Janice led the young fry through their many numbers with skill. .and pianist Betty Headon capably performed at the piano for the young choir. During the prelude Carla Davis on flute and Karen Doyle on piano did exceptionally well. The whole service was smooth and the children sang like angels. Guest speaker, Margaret Tansley of Port Perry, presented an ap- message for the youngsters and kept them on their toes...a vibrant, interesting talk which they enjoyed very much, en- titled, "How The Spruce Tree Grew" based on Scripture from passages of Psalm I & Ephesians 4: I1-15. It was a special day bringing to a close another year of S.S. activi- ty. The congregation showed their approval by warm applause at the close. The picnic held after the service at the lovely home of Norm & Ber- nice Mairs was a great finale for a big day with delicious food, a good crowd and lots of interesting games. She expressed her appreciation of the gift and passed the lovely flower vase around for all to see! Roll call was answered with 'a thought for the day." The pro- gramme consisted of interesting readings by Joyce Taylor, Norma Wolfe and Bertha McLaughlin. The meeting closed with hymn, 'I Am Thine, O Lord" and Benediction. Lovely refreshments were served by Dorothy Lee and Winnifred Davison...a beautiful birthday cake to help Mamie celebrate her big day. Norma Wolfe thanked one and all who had participated in the wor- - thwhile afternoon and appreciation to Mamie for use of her home.
