'Pioneer Days' at the museum will be Saturday July 4 and Sunday July 5. Again the "Head" U.C.W. will serve refreshments and Institute report by Lillian Harper, P.R.O. - The June meeting of Honeydale W.I. was held on Thursday June 4, with an excellent attendance, /in cluding one visitor, who was cordial: ly welcomed. Following the singing of the Ode, and repeating of the Institute Creed, the minutes of the last meeting, and' the treasurer's report were read. The roll call women today' brought a variety of thought-provoking answers. It was reported that fourteen of our members had é&ttended the District Annual in Brooklin in May, the largest delegation of any of the branches in the District. Plans were made for the mystery bus trip on June 9 with several ~ members expressing a desire to go. There was much discussion re the exhibit at the Port Perry Fair, with Clara Warren and Thelma McCreight offéring to convene the committee, and several members to help. : COMING "Issues facing COMING Plans are under way for a pro- 'gram to be presented by our group at the nursing home on June 29. There will be a meeting at Mabel Cawker's home on June 25, of all the convenors to plan next years pro- grams. We are hoping to have a demonstration on quilting at our meeting in September. The citizenship convenor, Marion Johnston, dealt most capably with the motto "Don't itch for something - for which you are not prepared to scratch!" Following many fine paints she put forward, she urged us to refer to our most worthwhile In- stitute Creed, frequently! Amusing readings were given by Ruby Bryant, Nellie Nottenboom and Alice Dodd. Following throat surgery Hugh was able to return to his home some time ago. Then on Saturday after weeks in hospital Mabel was able to return too with her daughter's care for a few days. Here's hoping they can en- joy the summer at home! Hubert & Linda Van Ginhaven & John & Wilma Van Ginhaven went with their parents because while in Dieren Holland, they helped Lam- mies parents celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. These two dear people are both 86 years old & have 12 children, 46 grandchildren & 33 great grandchildren. All 12 children were home for the occa- sion. I think those two belong in the Guiness World Book of Records. By the way, Peter, belated Happy Bir- thday to you from all of us in Prince Albert: Staying with birthdays, about 50 friends & relatives got together Sat. June 6th, at the Prince Albert Hall & helped Beth Pereman celebrate her 40th birthday. Beth's two sisters Roxie Deniston from Windsor & Jim & Anne McGregor from Braeside, Ontario were on hand for the happy occasion. Also Mr. & Mrs. Roy Pereman from Bobcaygeon travell- ed down to join all the rest. Beth would like to say 'Thank You' to you all for coming & getting up such a great party. Thursday evening last saw eleven tables of euchre filled at the Prince Albert Centre. Ladies high was: Reta Storie, second was Doris® Hill ~& low was Vera Fawns & on the mens side high was: Grant Bright, second was Lloyd Fawns & low was Richard Manns.
