by Wendy Clark Ending the last week of May we started out on Monday May 25 with Bowling. Our top bowler was Lionel Blaikie with 99 points. Congratulations! ! Tuesday we loaded on a bus and headed off to the Bowmanville Zoo for the day. When we arrived at the Zoo we started off on a trek around the grounds. Some of us fed the deer while others fed the . donkeys. To end this first week (Fri.) we held Bingo. Congratulations to all of our lucky winners. During late afternoon we were presented with a very well staged and acted out play title "Cybernella." Our great per- formers are some very talented kids from the Immaculate ion Public School. There was plenty of action and music. We all really en- joyed this specia! treat. Thank You!! On the first day of June we had movies. We all enjoyed watching 2 movies -- "Legendary Judge' and "Knights of the Bath." We then went for a refreshing walk outside. Tuesday a few of the residents participated in a game of Lawn Darts. Others enjoyed a Reading Group on the patio. Many in- teresting articles and stories were read. In the evening the Man- chester/Island United Church pro- vided an evening of fellowship. Wednesday we had a manicure and pedicure session. Also some of the ladies were kept busy cutting up ° rhubarb. The following day we had crafts. Quite a variety of néw projects are being worked on. Later on after sup- per a Bingo was held in the diningroom. ; Friday June 5 was Baking. The ladies prepared some delicious rhubarb pies. oo Birthday greetings are going out to Mrs. Eveline Flieler (June 2). Mrs. Louise Wright ( 17), Mrs. Gladys Zinglein (18) and Mr. Legnard Allen (23). The staff and residents would like to extend Best Wishes to Mrs. Lin- da Dignem who has held a position as an RN for the past 6 years here at the Nursing Home. She has left her employment here to go on fur- ther in her career. We will miss you Linda and wish you luck in your up- coming challenges. . Coming up on June 22 to the 26th is Nursing Home Week. We will be having a barbecue on June 17 to kick off Nursing Home Week.
