"rier 32 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, June 23, 1987 pr or pl, # Ice cream's back at the D.B. Hospital still needs $80, 000 What would summer in Port Perry be . : without ice-cream at the Dairy Bar? The popular Water Street spot has been closed this spring, but it re-opened Saturday, thanks to the efforts of new proprietor Norma Irvine (centre). She and her staff, including younger brother Kyle and her mother Sandra were kept hopping over the weekend scooping ice-cream cones. Norma says the D.B. will be open seven days a week and this coming weekend light lunches and breakfasts will be served. But ice-cream lovers will be pleased to know the D.B. is open for business with some 30 flavours to tempt their taste buds on a'hot summer day. Riel PICK YOUR OWN -- | GREENGANK . AND. CHILDREN for X-ray room Although it is close to reaching its goal, Community Memorial Hospital must still raise another $80,000 to pay, for the new x-ray room and equipment. Hospital administrator David Brown said last week that approx- imately $200,000 was already raised, but with a bill of $280,000, there _ is still some work to be done. Hospital fundraisers had counted on a $75,000 grant from Scugog Township but Council rejected the request during budget talks last month. Other fundraising ventures are in the works, however, including the Realtor's Ray of Hope Draw. Local real estate businesses have banded together for this cause, selling $5 tickets for prizes that in- clude a trip for two to the Barbados plus seven consolation prizes (four piece luggage set, toagter oven, $100 cash, $100 gift certificate, lawn furniture, gas barbecue and snap-on-tools). The draw will be held July 11th (during Festival Days) at 7 p.m. at the bandshell in Palmer Park. Tickets are available from any local real estate agent. a AND 6 CILNDER ELECTRONIC IGNITION 31° + LABOUR ONLY XTR AIR-CONDITIONED, 1 a A NDENSER. EXTRA June 30th, 1987 Fue!
