In the girls Pee Wee House League final played Saturday evening, CCR Electric from Greenbank staged some last inning heroics to nip Allens Siding by a score of 19-18 in a game that had spectators on the edge of their seats. Gamblers on track at CNE The Greenbank Gamblers came out of their slump this week as they won three games highlighted by a 2-0 win over Rockwood 'Drexler Construction' at the Bulova Watch Tournament at the C.N.E. Mark Goreski was in top form in the C.N.E. game as he scattered three hits enroute to the 2-0 shutout. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when Gambler center fielder Greg Rodd blasted a homerun out of the C.N.E. Ball Park. This was all the scoring that Mark Goreski would need as he struck out eight Rockwood batters and did not walk a man. The Greenbank defense was air- tight in this game and Rockwood never advanced a runner past first base. The Gamblers drew a bye in the second round of the tournament and their next C.N.E. game is this com- ing Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. at the ball diamond just inside the Duf- ferin St. Gate. In the opener Mark Goreski toss- ed a one hit shutout at the Markham-Claremont squad as Greenbank won by a 5-0 score. Brian Henricks, Don Beaton and John Foster each had a homerun for the Gamblers. Brian Henricks had three hits to lead the attack while Brian Till had a pair of safeties with other Gambler hits going to Trevor Till and Rodd Real. In the night cap game Ken Goreski took the hill for Greenbank and scattered five Markham- Claremont hits to pick up a 6-2 Gambler victory. Greenbank picked up three runs in the third inning and another three runs in the fourth to put the game on ice, Trevor Till, Don Beaton, George Redshaw, Brian Till, Brian Henricks and John Foster all delivered safe hits in the Gambler win. The season is rapidly drawing to a close and the final league cham- pionship tournament will be held the weekend of September 19 & 20 and \some of these games will be played in Greenbank Park.
