26 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, August 25, 1987 Greenbank in the 0ASA championship On Friday, August 21, the Green- bank All Stars played host to Clare- mont for a rained-out league game which happened earlier on during the season. The All Stars were ready to show the Greenbank crowd what they were made of and did with pret- ty good style! The game started off with Clare- mont getting 3 unearned runs throughout 3 innings and made Greenbank look like they were made of jello. But with the score 3-0 for Claremont, Greenbank pulled themselves together. In the bottdm of the third, Mark Shepherd drew a walk and powerhouse Tim Timms drove Mark home with a stand-up triple. Dan Sluggett then cracked a single through the infield and scored Timms, thus leaving the score 3-2 still for Claremont. The fifth inning saw a lot of action when Claremont scored a run but Greenbank retalliated with 3 of their TT ETN hn. The own. Brett Puckrin started things off for Greenbank when he drilled a line drive to left-centre field for a head- first slide into second base. He then stole third and was batted in by a line drive from Mark Shepherd. Tim Timms, Greenbank's powerful cat- cher, then stepped up to bat and drilled a smashing line drive through the infield resulting in a double and scoring Shepherd. Tim Timms then scored on a beautiful ground ball hit by Greenbank's third baseman, Ken Winslow. The inning ended with Greenbank ahead 5-4. Claremont got another run to tie the game resulting in the final score of 5-5. On the mound for Greenbank was Brett Puckrin who pitched a tremendous game striking out 13 of 29 batters. The "'star" of this game was cat- cher Tim Timms who hit 2 for 4 with a triple, a double and 2 RBI's. He also caught a beautiful game and was a key factor in a 5-5 tie. Well done Tim! ¢ Greenbank is now off to Springbrook for the 0.A.S.A. cham- pionship next weekend, August 29 & 30.
