2 a, SN SEL eae alia. dh aL. 12 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, September 22, 1987 At Len Graphics Lid., no job is too small! The motto at Lan Graphics Ltd. is "No Job Too Small." Whether the job in question is as physically small ag a business card, or as large as a poster, the folks at Len Graphics say they can handle it all Bill and Pamela Henshall make up the husband and wife team who opened the instant printing business in Port Perry last February The shop, at 175 North St. | is a branch of Len Graphics in Uxbridge, owned by Len and Rita Cowie, who started the business in November 1976 part- time, and went full-time in October 1981 ) Pamela Henshall was employed at the Uxbridge location, when the owners realized there was a need for instant printing in Port Perry. Together with husband Bill (who has been in the printing business for 25 years, the last 15 of which have been spent managing the printing department of the Law Society of Upper Canada), Pamela research- ed the market conditions in Port CHESTERFIELD SUITES - LOVE SEATS SECTIONALS - MATTRESSES A Large Selection LESS THAN 1/2 1 PRICE! = McKEEN FURNITURE 524 Simcoe St. S., Oshawa - 725-5181 Perry and discovered many local business people took their printing needs to Oshawa or Whitby Without further adieu, they began searching for rental space in Port Perry, and eventually chose to set up shop in the relatively new Tri- Port building, home of Fowler, Davies law firm, Information Scugog, and Community Care. "The hardest part was finding a location an" + <'re glad we decided to come here, ' Pamela says. Both she and Bill (who are originally from the Cookstown, Schomberg area) are impressed with the acceptance they have already found in Port Perry, and with the friendly people who live here. And while chents haven't exactly been knocking their doors down, the Henshalls have been busy. Specializing in camera-ready work (where a piece of work is already typed and ready to go), Len Graphics can produce finished prin- ting in anywhere from two minutes to 24 hours. Most printing jobs can be done while a customer waits, en- joying a coffee. Colour work or large orders may take longer, but the Henshalls pride themselves on producing quality printing quickly, and at reasonable rates. One hundred copies of basic 8'2"x11"" white bond paper with black ink costs only $6.25. Compare that to 100 photocopies (at .20 cents each), and you can see the savings involved in printing as opposed to photocopying large numbers of copies. One thousand copies, for ex- ample, costs only $22. "Once people come in, they realize the savings of printing," Pamela says. And they do all kinds of printing, including letterheads, envelopes, business cards, invoices, flyers, as well as folding, drilling stitching, scoring, numbering, booklets, in- vitations, announcements--you name it, they do it. While Pamela works mainly in the front office, Bill does most of the actual printing, using a Gestetner Offset Duplicator, and an A/B Dick machine as a back-up. If jobs come in that are too big for the machines to handle, Bill ships the work over to Uxbridge, where the bigger presses can handle just about anything with ease. "It's like having two businesses," he says. As well as custom-printing, Len Graphics also offers photocopies, wedding stationery, rubber stamps, photocopy paper, continuous forms, magnetic signs and snap sets. In other words, the new shop pro- vides a multitude of services for businesses and individuals. And as Bill says, "If we can't do it here, we'll recommend someone who can." The shop is open Monday to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. TICKETS AVAILABLE AT BROCK'S REMEMBER OUR ...
