His en- try, a large watercolour illustration of a natural setting of five trilliums, joins other successful submissions from 57 Canadian and American ar- tists in an event sponsored by the Batavia Society of Artists of Batavia, New York. Completed earlier this year, "Trilliums" was originally commis- sioned by Mr. and Mrs. D. Blair of Toronto. However, before its actual delivery, the work appeared in yet another adjudicated exhibition of Ontario artists in Collingwood. The exhibition runs through the month of October. Mr. Parkes will attend the official reception on Oc- tober 4th, at which time various awards will be presented to the win- ning participants.
