On Wednesday evening at the Rec Centre the Pine Ridge Garden Club hosted a Fashion Show, "Blackstock, Then and Now" with an excellent crowd attending. Kent Farndale of Port Perry acted as M.C. providing an interesting com- mentary for the fashions from the three Port Perry stores -- namely Dor-Jean, Brocks and In Fashion. Models from the area displayed the beautiful fashions of today. Mildred Wilson was in charge of the Then Fashions with many beautiful out- fits from the Beacock Family collec- tion. Ellen Lamb and Vicki Popowich gave a demonstration of "Doing Colours." On Sunday afternoon St. John's Anglican Church held a special Old Time Harvest Home Service. Rev. Ansley Tucker and Carol Henry ar- rived on horseback to set the flavour for the event. The church was beautifully decorated with special decorations including an arch with corn and beautiful leaves at the front of the church leading to the Chancel. The service began with a hymn sing featuring many old hymns with Linda McLaughlin at the organ. The order of service itself was one that had been used many years ago. Rev. D. Davis of the United Church assisted Rev. A. Tucker with the Eucharist. Stock up now and save money! 5 Year Annual Interest 1252 KNEE HIGHS - one size, 2 pair pkg. Saturday night the Rec Centre was the scene off another successful dance when the Durham East Junior Farmers held their fall dance. A good number of Junior Farmers from other areas of the Zone attended this event. The students of grade 6 class of C.C.P.S. enjoyed several days at Durham Forest staying overnight there for two nights with teachers Mrs. Jeffrey and Mr. Wilson. Mr. Bob Almack of Blackstock Outdoor Consultant has planned an excellent programme for the grade 6 classes. At the United Church Rev. D.
