Brent Snodden, Sunderland, plac- ed first in the Senior Showmanship Class, while Scott Wilson, Port Perry, placed second. Brent went on to be named Champion Showman of the day. Wendy Evans, Uxbridge placed third, and Bill Raines, Sunderland placed fourth in the Junior Showmanship. lan McFadden, Sunderland plac- ed first in the Junior Calf Class, with a Romandale Magic heifer, that went on to be named the Grand Champin Holstein Calf. The ticket was drawn by chairman Ken Irvine at left; Brent Taylor of Marlin Travel which handles the travel arrangements; Keith Dyke, Oddfellows secretary and Bruce Kellett, club treasurer. The holder of the first lucky ticket draw. was Dave Eliott of Greenbank who won a seven day cruise in the Caribbean. Second ticket drawn (for a free ticket in next year's draw) was held by Winston Irvine of Oshawa. There are 12 mon- thly draws. Tickets are $120 each and are com- pletely sold out for this year. We were pleased to have such a fine attendance at the W.M.S. fall thankoffering last Sunday night, and especially nice to see so many of our young people. Our guest speaker for the evening was Karen McAndless, a student at Knox College. Karen spent this past summer at Camp _ Christopher in Saskatchewan and shared with us some of her ex- perience there. The Junior Choir favoured us with some lovely numbers. Moyra Griffin sang, ac- companied on her guitar 'Bridge Over Troubled Water." Barbara Porter led in a rousing sing song, which was enjoyed by all. To con- clude the evening, everyone a social hour Holy Communion was celebrated at Burns Church last Sunday morn- ing. Lindsay Death and Ray In- gleton read the scripture portions, with the Senior choir singing **O My Saviour, Lifted From The Earth." Rev. McEntyre's sermon was titled "God's Healing in a Fractured World." His text was from Isaiah chapter 45, verse 22. The church is the healing force in a fractured world. Burns Church Anniversary Ser- vices are being held on Sunday, Oc- "tober 18at 11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Rev. Robert Spencer from Crieff Hills is the guest speaker.
