: --_ Prince Albert area news by Earline Armstrong The ladies of Prince Albert United Church met on Wed. evening, Oct. 14th for their regular monthly meeting. Seventeen ladies answered the Roll Call. Devotion was done by Noreen Crosier, Andrea Jones and Lila Clarke. Their topic was sharing and caring. Margaret Ann Lamb from Manchester was guest speaker and done a great job as always, keeping with the theme on caring and sharing as her topic. Business part of the meeting was mainly the roast beef supper on Oct. 25th, tickets are available from Shirley Hunter at 985-3819 or Bev Stanley at 985-9269. In Nov. Greta Hope is coming to do a craft demonstration - tickets will be $3 a person - this will be on Nov. 9 or 16. Thank you notes were read from Aileen Olsen and the Col- umbus UCW and a $25 donation was sent to Operation Eyesight. Lunch was served by Betty Deeth, Earline Armstrong and Florence Smith. Next meeting is on Nov. 11. See you then. Belated birthday wishes to Diana Brough who was another year younger on Oct. 10, and on Oct. 19, her son Paul will be celebrating his day if you see him wish a Happy Bir- thday. And on Wed. Oct. 21, Eric Parrish on Union Ave., he has a bir- thday on that day. Happy Birthday Eric. Margaret Keeler, Virginia Rioult, Jean Keeler, Earline Armstrong and Fran Fox were among the many at the Catholic Church Hall on Thurs. evening to view the Fall Fashion Show. Marjorie Chambers was also there. Deepest sympathy to Ron and Jeanette Johnston out Seagrave way in the death of their son Lional on Tues. Oct. 13. They had just buried Ron's mom the same day. Euchre on Thurs. evening saw 12 tables filled at the Prince Albert Hall. Ladies high was Barb Doupe, second was Doris Redman and low was Rose W -illoughby and I am pleased to report the men stood up and got no help from the ladies - high was Bert Daniels, second was Carl Gimblett and low was Gord Smith and two gentlemen even took the door prizes. They were Merv Storie and Norman Birkett. Please come out again next Thurs. Oct. 22 - will be pleased to have you. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Martyn were in Oakwood on Thanksgiving having dinner with Marion and John Lake and all the rest of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Les Beacock had Thanksgiving dinner on Sat. Oct. 10 with their son Don and his wife Marilyn and boys out at Seagrave. Then on Monday, Thanksgiving Day, Les and Grace joined Bryan, Judy and Philip and had dinner with Miss Olive Beacock in Oshawa. Sympathy to Hazel Brooks over on Simcoe St., her nephew Don Brooks passed away in Sunnybrook Hospital as the result of a car accident. We would also like to wish Hazel a Happy Birthday on Friday, she was another year younger. Dorothy Hope just called me and on Nov. 9th, in the church basement from 8-10, there will be a craft demonstration. The tickets are $3 a person and there will be lots of door prizes.
