Mrs. Crosier returned on Wed. from a week's visit with Wally & Jean Scott and family in London. Dale and Karen Beare of Burlington had lunch with Mrs. Crosier on Saturday. Lorne & Eileen Slute celebrated Thanksgiving with all their family who came on Monday. On Thurs. Eileen attended the Teacher's Col- lege Reunion at Jackson's Point. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Slute of Green- =~ bank entertained his parents on Saturday for supper. Doug MacSween"s sister Joan and children Jack & Jason of P.E.L visited on Sunday. Happy Birthday to Janine Croxall who will be two years old on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Murray and Colleen of Frankford, Mr. Art Bed- win and Fred and Mrs. Elizabeth Skelding of Newcastle were Sunday dinner guests with the Jack Skelding family. . Epsom-Utica U.C.W. by Eileen Slute Meeting held Tues. Oct. 13th at 1:15 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Beryl Lunney. Nineteen members present. After a delicious lunch of ginger- bread and whipped cream, the ladies were asked if they could recite Indian Summer. Jean Jeffery was able to say two verses, but Jen- nie Watson said all three. They each received a prize. Hymn 199 was sung. Meditation was based on the 8th Chapter of Genesis. Alice Ross read the Scrip- ture Psalm 100. Elizabeth Taylor had the Medita- tion -- God's love is continuous no matter what season of the year. We complain more often but do we give thanks when everything is perfect or not so perfect. Contrast of Job's suf- fering with our bountiful country. Alice read a prayer. Offering was received and dedicated by the sing- ing of 'We give thee but thine own." Treasurer's report read and adapted. Supper requirements were taken care of. Lil Lindsay sent her regrets for not being there. Irene Fielding and Nancy Skelding agreed to look after gifts for babies for Utica area which was being done by Denise Thorn. Nov. 10th at 6:45 p.m. we are to do Nov. birthday party at Daheim Nur- sing Home. Group 2 offered to look after entertainment and gifts for the people. Fall Rally on Nov. 9th, at 10 a.m. at Ravenshoe. Second Annual Open House at Manse on Dec. 13th on Sunday afternon. Eileen Slute volunteered to clean church for November. a 3 || = aa cp
