A group of about 40 members and friends of the organization were pre- sent to eat a hearty breakfast and discuss the successes of the past year. Present at the head table were representatives of the three nor- thern municipalities of Durhain, Mayor Gerri Lynn O'Connor, Ux- bridge, Mayor Jerry Taylor, Scugog; and councillor Dave Mar- quis, Brock Twp. In her brief address Mayor O'Con- nor said that the Big Brother/Big Sister Association is one of the cor- nerstorie organizations of the com- munity and although not as visible as many others, its contribution to the community was great Mayor Jerry Taylor said that the Association is a very important part of the community and he :ap- Halloween breakfast preciated the dedication and work that was being done by its members. "*As our communities continue to grow there will be an increased de- mand on your organization," he said. Following the breakfast pins were awarded to all the Big/Little Brothers and Sisters present at the breakfast. Past President Pete Gouweleeuw was presented a gavel for his ser- vice to the organization by Presi- dent Bert Corbett. In accepting the gavel, Mr. Gouweleeuw said "the Heros of our organization are all the Big Brothers and Big Sisters who give so freely of their time." In his closing remarks, President Bert Corbett indicated there was much work to be done, and that the organization was in desperate need of more Big Brothers and Sisters as there are some Little Brothers now waiting to be matched. The breakfast was concluded with a show of magic for the kids from students of Sheridan College.
