Time' Cloggers performed in 13 shows at the Royal Winter Fair in the Coliseum, Exhibition Park, Toronto, over the past two weeks. Six shows were on the Chrysler stage in the East Mezzanine Upper Level and the other seven shows were on the Foodland Ontario Stage. Taking part in the dancing were members- Carol, Karen & Tracy Doyle, Nestleton, Pat & Danielle Millson & Barry Van Camp of Blackstock, Sheree Gagnon, Oshawa, and Darryl Linnington, Teacher & Choreographer, Scar- bqrough. John Doyle was the capable M.C. for all the shows. Karen Knight and Olive Bedford of Sunderland were able to join the group for a couple of shows. "Step In Time' Cloggers, although mostly local people is an Oshawa based danced group. A very enjoyable, exciting few days for the Cloggers! Our congratulations to then! Evening UCW Unit Meeting Regenia Walker, Scugog Point, was the hostess for the Nov. UCW meeting of the Evening Unit. Many items of business were attended to, including a discussion regarding Operation Scugog Christmas boxes, a donation to Community Care and plans for the December meeting. After the minutes were read and ap- proved, the Roll Call 'a favourite hymn" was answered. Kay Notman presented the worship using Remembrance Day and Peace as the theme. Betty Headon used a "craft ses- sion' for the program. Refreshments and a social time were enjoyed as pine cone centre- pieces were fashioned and each lady took a lovely creation home from this productive evening. Guests Welcomed At Blue Ray Chapter For the Nov. meeting, guests from Oshawa and West Hill Chapters were warmly welcomed by Blue Ray Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron Karel & Jack Nottingham ... their first official meeting of the year. During the opening ceremonies the Flag was presented by acting Marshal Frances Westfall at the Altar, and Chaplain Judy Davidson led in Prayer. A brief business period was car- ried out. The Worthy Matron asked for volunteers to assist with the Masonic Dinner coming up on Dec. 8th ... and Conductress Debby Davis appealed to members to turn in lots of chocolate bars and other goodies for the Christmas Cheer baskets ... to 'be brought to the Dec. 10th meeting. Members were saddened to learn of the death of Sister Emma Cook of Oshawa, and a former resident of Port Perry. Emma, a Past Matron, was a most willing worker in the Order for many years and will be sadly missed. Members served lunch after the funeral, and ap- preciation was expressed by past Matron Elsie Wilbur. After the Chapter closed, Judy Davidson and Carol Morrow were responsible for the tempting refreshments, concluding an infor- mal, pleasant occasion. Court Lady Snowbird Sponsors Bazaar Opening with a warm welcome by president Irene Train ... a very en- joyable Tea and Bazaar was held in Nestleton Community Centre on Thurs. evening last ... sponsored by Court Lady Snowbird No. 1.1930. Many interested folk attended the event, which was a decided success. There were many attractive items for sale including lovely home bak- ing, needlework, crafts, miscellaneous, Christmas ideas, etc., topped off with a terrific lunch, tea and coffee. Choice was difficult. As well ... draws were a feature and many went home with coveted prizes. The Pine Ridge Cloggers enter- tained in their usual fine style ... a very popular, well known group of dancers ... a real drawing card for a pleasurable evening. Those who missed the Bazaar & Programme were the losers! Congratulations to the Court Lady Snowbirds once again! In the choir, Joanna Malcolm, Regenia Walker, Kay Not- man and Betty Headon sang a har- monious number, "Fill My Cup, Lord" accompanied by the organist Gwen Malcolm. This fine service closed with the favourite, "All The Way My Savious Leads Me." 50th Anniversary Celebrated On Sunday afternoon, Lawrence & Gwen Malcolm attended the 50th Anniversary reception for-her Un- cle and Aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Ar- not Van Nest held at the Guild Inn, Scarborough. They were accom- panied by Gail, David & Joanne Malcolm. Many relatives and friends were present for this happy occasion, hosted by son Paul, daughter Nancy and her family. Nestleton Presbyterian Church With the usual attendance, the 11 a.m. service was conducted by Susan Swann in the absence of her father Rev. F'. Swann. Joyce Taylor was the able organist. Psalm 29 was read in unison. Scripture 1st Joshua speaking on the verses 6-9 of Script, after the death of Moses Joshua became the leader and after instructions from thé Lord, prepared the people to pass over in- to Jordan. Congratulations Our warmest congratulations to the Kinsale Women's Institute (On- tario South District) who celebrated their 90th anniversary on Nov. 18th, at the lovely, spacious home of Gwen Mowbray at Kinsale. Many Women's Institute members and friends, enjoyed a delicious tea and reminisced about the years past and present, while chatting over the tea cups. Kinsale. is the second oldest Branch in Ontario, Stoney Creek be- ing the first ... where the W.1. had its beginning. An enthused group of W.I1. members seeking to mark this special event in the history of their ~ Branch. Social Notes Audrey Leishman, Reaboro, and Yvonne Holland, Nestleton, have been assisting Mother Neta Fish with her apartment ... putting up new curtains, etc., while Neta is in charge at Merle Heinzmans ... as Merle is in hospital at present. Our best - wishes to Merle for better health soon. Marlene Bannister and friend Roy YFitzgerald of Peterborough, were up to Neta's on Tuesday for a visit. The Sam Cawkers stepped out in style during the week-with Ted and Edgar and Anne Emersons ... Tea at Neta's new apartment ... lunch with Alan and Eleanor Cawker at Oshawa and wound up with a dinner at Bob & Madeline Cawkers on Fri- day evening. You can't beat that! Caesarea Community Chu: ch A very good attendance of wor- shippers on Sunday morning ... but many were away sick. Arden Mascheke led the Responsive reading Dan Pugh Jr. read the Scripture. Rev. Dr. W.H. Crawford talked on the 'Purpose of Christian Fellowship' from I John 1- 3rd verse. We need fellowship to grow . getting together and growing together is very important. Lyn Arney was in charge of the children's school. The committee is working hard on the Christmas programme. The Sunshine Club is meeting regularly. Anne Maschke & Kath Watt- musicians.
