32 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, December 1, 1987 Minor Hockey House Leagues PEE WEE Monday, November 23 Scala and Larocque faced off in a fast skating match. The Larocque started the scoring on a goal by Chris Robinson and assisted by Kevin Pearce. Kevin Pearce scored Larocques second goal unassisted. Mike Williams then scored a nice goal for Scala assisted by Jerry Blackburn. Kevin Pearce for Laroc- que scored his second of the game and Cliff LeFort and Chris Robinson shared in this team effort goal. Chris Robinson scored his second of the game and was assisted by Kevin Pearce. Scala wouldn't quit and Jerry Blackburn scored from Mike Williams. Larocque then put this game away on two more goals - one by Mike Hepburn from Chris Bryant and the last by Kevin Pearce from Mark Cosway. Kevin had a big night with a well deserved 'Hat Trick" and two assists. Saturday, November 28 In the early morning game Scala and Big 'V"' Drug Store started off in a fast pace. The first period was very close but the Big "'V" team took control in the second. Big *'V"' scored 6 goals in the second and third period to win the game 6-0. Big "V's" scorers were Kent Jamieson 2 goals and 1 assist, Todd Smart 1 goal and 3 assists, Garfield LeFort 1 goal and 1 assist, Brad Lemieux 1 goal, John Rolston 1 goal and Ryan Pickard 2 assists. Robbie Romano played well in goal for Scala although the score didn't indicate this. Also Steven Slade and David Holt played well for Big *'V." Both teams played a super game and ended in a 1-1 tie. This was one of the best played games this year. Both teams had end to end rushes and great passing plays. Scott Airey for Consumers scored on a nice set up by Sean Ball and Louis Whitfield. Emiels goal was scored by Blair Beveridge. Both teams played well as teams and the score showed that. Also Greg Rankin for Emiels and Ryan Ridgway for Consumers played super between the pipes. ATOM Scugog Lumber 4 Whitby Auto Wreckers 2 Gordon Bentley assisted by Mike Leach gave Whitby an early lead but Scugog came roaring back with 4 goals of their own before Mike Leach assisted by Steven Hiemstra and Chris Kennie finished the scoring. Scugog goal scorers were Darren Kinnunen 2, Matt Mantel 2, with assists going to Matt Brown, Jeff Jamieson, and Jeff Woodward. Port Perry Lions 3 Tripp Real Estate 3 A very exciting fast paced game that had the right outcome as both teams deserved 1 point for their ef- fort. Sandy Mark led Tripp with 2 goals, Steven Cochrane 1 goal and single assists going to Scott Swain, Chad Mitchell and Jason Phillips. Port Perry Lions were once again led by Sean Gawley 2 goals, 1 assist while Kevin McGrisken added the final goal. Port Perry Lions 8 Whitby Auto Wreckers 0 Scoring for the Lions - Sean Gawley 4 goals, Troy Anderson 1 goal, 1 assist, Alan Calder 2 goals, 1 assist, Jeff Griffen 1 goal, 2 assists, Ryan Duff 1 goal, 2 assists and Rob- bie Martyn 1 assist. Kyle McClymont picked up the shut-out in the Lions goal. Gord Lewis Motors 4 Scugog Lumber 4 Gord Lewis jumped out to a 3-0 lead only to have Scugog come back to tie the game with 3 minutes re- maining. Lake Scugog Lumber 3 Port Perry Lions 2 In the final game of the day we had a goaltenders duel with Kyle Simms and his Lumber boys winn- ing a squeaker. Scoring for Lake Scugog - Matt Mantel assisted by Jeff Jamieson, Jeff Woodward assisted by John Hall and finally Neil Hancock assisted by Matt Mantel. Port Perry Lions goals were both scored by Troy Anderson with Sean Gawley picking up 1 assist. Whitby Aute Wreckers 10 Tripp Real Estate No game sheet available. NOVICE Davids Hairstyling 2 Van Camp Contracting f1 Neither team was able to score in the opening period in this game, but in the second Davids scored twice and held a 2-0 lead going into the third. Van Camp got one back but were unable to get the equalizer. Colin Outram and Jason Heyworth had the goals for Davids, with assists credited to Blayne Kin- nunen, Matt Koetje, and Brandon Hammond. ReMax jumped into a quick 2-0 lead, but Port Perry Printing came back strongly and were up 3-2 after the first, and 5-3 after the se- cond. The last period belonged to ReMax though, as they scored three unanswered goals to take a hard- fought 6-5 victory. Robbie Murphy was the big shooter for ReMax, getting a hat- trick and assisting on the goal scored by Jamie Trick. Kristan Wootten had a pair of goals, and Ryan Diceman and Robert Gracie each had an assist. Port Perry Printing's Adam Jones had a pair of goals and an assist, and singles were scored by Jason Hopkins, Danny Robinson, and Derek Leeming. Troy Campbell had 2 assists. Van Camp Contracting 11 ReMax Realty 3 The Van Camp squad put it all together in this game as they blasted ReMax by the score of 11-3. After being on the short-end of a lot of close games this year, it appears they are finally starting to click as a team. Jason Robinson fired in 5 big goals to lead Van Camp to the victory. Kevin Hobbs had 2 goals and 2 assists, Matt Phillips, two goals, Ryan Puckrin, 2 goals and an assist, and Martyn Wannamaker, two assists. Robert Gracie scored twice for ReMax. He and Robbie Murphy assisted on the other goal, which was scored by Justin Halligan. Port Perry Printing 5 Davids Hairstyling 0 Matt Bengal shut-out the Davids shooters in this one, to gain a shut- out victory for Port Perry Printing. Scoring was well spread around for the Printers, with 5 different players getting single goals: Jason Hopkins, Bobby Cracknell, Danny Robinson, Adam Jones and Chris Jamieson. Assists were earned by Chris Drury, Derek Leeming and Bobby Crackneil. Tykes The 1st year tykes put on their skates Saturday morning and head- ed out on the ice with their usual en- thusiasm as they practised their skills. Included in their program of skills is exercises on the ice, skating around pylons and coming to a stop on the blue line. Some boys have achieved these skills with ease with only 2 months into the season. They continue to show strong ability and desire to learn. Showing much improvement in their skills is Sean Jeffrey and Beau Jolicoeur of Dowson's Value-Mart, Mark Blakely and Scott Brawson of Don Forder Insurance. Also showing improvement is Christopher Bronson and Christopher Jones of Scugog Overhead Doors and Ryan McQuade and Scott Risebrough of Kinsmen. The advanced tykes practised their skills with emphasis on stopp- ing, skating backwards and stick handling. They also had a scrim- mage to end the session. Keith Hancock, Danny Lyons and Scott Harper of the C.A.W. 222 con- tinue to show impromement as well as David Clouthier, Jeremy Heyworth and Scott Jeffrey of Brooks Feeds.
