In a report tabled at Monday's meeting of Township council, the Regional Works department noted that there have been no serious traffic problems observed on that stretch of the Oshawa Road from Highway 7A to Vandedward Drive. The report says that some drivers will pass cars waiting to make a left turn, 'but this can be expected on any 2 lane road without curb and gutter." About 600 vehicles per hour use this stretch of road in peak mor- ning periods and about 1000 per hour at peak periods in the after- noon. The report also notes that over the past four years, there have been two traffic accidents along this stretch of road. The Township council, acting on a request from a resident of the area, asked the Regional Works department to examine the stretch of road to determine if changes were needed to make it safer for vehicle traffic.
