Derek played solid goalten- ding and combined with Swamp's missed opportunitied and Frank's defense resulted in the shut-out. In the first period Frank's scored at the 9:34 mark when Michael Butt turned the red light on with the assist going to Alex Cramer and Brad Bricknell. In the second period Frank scored three goals when Brad Bricknell scored twice to give him his hat- trick and assists going to Rob Vanuden, Doug Adams and Brad Bricknell. The last goal scored was at the 4:51 of the second period and no further red lights were turned on by either team. I.LG.A. 8 Emmerson 6 In this game the fans were treated to a real cliff hanger and an exciting game when I.G.A. and Emmerson's players scored fourteen goals with [.G.A. winning the shoot-out 8-6. Would you believe after one period the score was 1-0 in favour of I.G.A. when Daryl Alexander scored with the assist going to Robin Hancock and John Woodward. Emmerson's scored at the 10:27 of the second to tie the game when Tim Kyte scored assisted by Paul Kett and Glenn Whittaker. [.G.A. scored next to make the score 2-1 when Chris McConnell found the range assisted by Peter Brock and Ken Smart. | Emmerson's tied the game on a goal by Darcy Head assisted by Michael Toye. I.G.A. scored at 5:05 of the second to go up 3-2 when Peter Brock made a nice play assisted by Neil Mark and Ken Smart. After two periods 1.G.A. was up by one goal to make the game 3-2. By the 14:04 of the third Emmerson's tied the game and at the 9:14 mark they had scored three goals to give them a 5-3 score. Emmerson's marksmen were hard working Michael Toye, Darcy Head and Paul Kett and one assist given to Darcy Head. [.G.A. decided they could score and in fact they hit the back of the mesh for four consecutive goals. [.G.A.'s shooters were Neil Mark (2), Peter Brock and Chris McCon- nell with the assist going to Ken Smart (2), Richard Stapleton, Neil Mark (2), Peter Brock (2) and Chris McConnell. At the 2:15 of the third period I.G.A. made the score 7-5 but with 1:20 left in the period, Emmer- son's Darcy Head made the score 7-6 in favour of I.G.A. and Michael Toye assisted. Emmersons jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the 6:02 mark of the first period when Paul Kett scored twice and Darcy Head once with the assist going to Vince Criscione and Tim Kyte. [.G.A. scored the next two goals when Mark Andrews and Peter Brock found the range with Ken Smart assisting. Emmerson's Vince Criscione scored next to give his team a 4-2 lead and Aaron Cochrane and Michael Toye assisted. Emmerson's players went on a scoring spree when they scored the next three goals to make the score 7-2 after two periods. Hitting the back of the mesh were Emmerson's players Paul Kett, Michael Toye, Aaron Cochrane with assists going to Dar- cy Head, Chad Prentice and Paul Kett. I.G.A.'s Neil Mark scored their third goals at the 7:09 of the périod with the assist going to Robin Han- cock and Daryl Alexander. Frank Real Estate 7 Swamp Garage 5 Frank's jumped out to a 2-0 lead when Alex Cramer scored both goals assisted by Michael Butt (2), Doug Adams and Adam Danter. Swamp scored next to make the game 2-1 in favour of Frank when Dave Buxcey scored assisted by Heath Hudson. Frank scored next when Doug Adams scored unassisted to give his team a 3-1 lead after one period. Frank's snipers connected for the next two goals when Michael Butt scored both goals with the assist go- ing to Rob Vanuden, Greg Kyle and Alex Cramer. Swamp scored next at the 9:31 of the second period when Dave Bux- cey hit the mesh with the assist go- ing to Daryl Dutkewich and Pete Simms. J At the end of the second period Frank's were leading 5-2. Frank's Herb Hatch scored unassisted at the 13:25 of the 3rd period to open a 6-2 lead. Swamp continued to work hard and score the next three goals to make the score 6-5 in favour of Frank. Swamp snipers were Daryl Dutkewich and Barkley Phoenix (2), with assists going to Barkley Phoenix, Chris Cooper and Dave Buxcey (2). Swamp continued to press for the equalizer but were not successful and Frank's Doug Adams scored unassisted with twelve seconds left in the game to make the final score 7-5. PEE WEE November 30 Emiels and Big '"V" Drug Store skated in a fast skating, aggressive hockey game. The goaltenders were superb in this game coming up with many great saves. Blair Beveridge scored a nice goal from Chad Ven- ning for Emiels. Big "V's" Ryan Picard scored to tie the game at 1-1 from Steven Slade. This fast paced game show- ed many rushes from both teams and some real digging in the corners by Kent Jamieson for Big *'V'" and Nicki Beare for Emiels. Chad Venning scored the next goal for Emiels unassisted. Again Ryan Picard scored unassisted to tie the game at two. With only 5 seconds remaining and the Emiels team short handed with only 3 skaters on their side, the puck was dropped and Blair Beveridge carried the puck in- to the Big "V"" end and scored to give Emiels the victory - Super Hockey! : Consumers Gas and Larocque Electric skated in a very close game for the first period. Consumers An- drew Pereman scored from Scott Airey to open the scoring. Mark Cosway scored from Chris Robinson to tie the game at 1-1. Consumers Scott Airey scored the go ahead goal from Steven Stiles. Larocque took control of this game at this point scoring the next 4 goals. Chris Robinson scored the first of these from Kevin Pearce and Mark Cosway. Mike Hepburn scored from Kevin Ellis and Steve Parish. The last goal was scored by Mark Cosway again from Kevin Pearce. The game ended in a 5-2 vic- tory for Larocque. Kevin Brown for Consumers played an excellent game both of- fensively and defensively but was stopped many times by Larocques Mike Tripp in goal. Scala and Emiels started this game fighting for control of the puck. Both teams showed nice pass- ing plays and end to end individual rushes. Scott Foster for Scala made a lovely end to end rush to score the first goal in this game. Emiels Aron Royle scored a similar type goal to tie the game at 1-1. The next two goals were scored by Emiels Rob Brown from Blair Beveridge and Darrin Hope and a nice rebound shot by Darrin Hope from Blair Beveridge. Scala fought back on the next two goals by Blair Prechitko, one assisted by Scott Foster and the other assisted by Graham Carnegie and Darryl Slack. Scala took the lead on a goal by Scott Foster assisted by Mike Pothier. Emiels wouldn't quit and tied the game on a beautiful hard shot by Chad Venning assisted by Rob Brown and Blair Beveridge. The winning goal was scored by Aron Royle on a beautiful set up by Blair Beveridge. This game ended in a 5-4 victory for Emiels. Both teams played very well! Big *"V" Drug Store and Con- sumers Gas came out flying! Big "V" took the lead by 2 goals, one by Kent Jamieson unassisted and the other by Ryan Picard assisted by Steven Stiles. The next three goals were scored by Consumers to go ahead by one. Louis Whitfield scored on a booming slap shot from Kevin Brown; Mike Olaisen scored on a wicked slap shot just inside Big 'V's' blue line; Ross Stainton scored on a nice rebound from Mike Olaisen. Big "V's" Gar- field LeFort popped in the next two goals and Ryan Picard drew the assists. Mike Staniland and Corey Mason played very well for Big "V" as did Ross Stainton and Steven Gascoyne for Consumers Gas. Starting on Friday, December 11 and continuing to December 19, anyone wishing to contribute to this cause can bring non-perishables to the Scugog Arena, and Minor Hockey is hoping that as many peo- ple as possible will take this oppor- tunity to make a donation of fpod. This Christmas food drive by Minor Hockey is in conjunction with Operation Scugog, the organization that has been working for the past 14 years to distribute hampers and food baskets during the month of December. Port Perry Printing opened up the scoring on a goal by Bobby Cracknell assisted by Derek Leem- ing, but five minutes later Van Camp's Matt Phillips converted a pass from Ryan Williams to tie things up at one a piece. The winning goal came off the stick of Port Perry Printing's Aaron Levy. with an assist ta Adam Jones, Minor Hockey House Leagues with about five minutes remaining in the game. David's Hairstyling 3 ReMax Realty 2 The ReMax squad opened and closed the scoring in this close match-up, but in between David's Hairstyling scored three to gain the victory. Colin Outram had two goals for David's, and Steven Elliott the other one. : Replying for ReMax were Robbie Murphy and Ryan Diceman. Robbie assisted on Ryan's goal. Tykes improving The 1st year tykes spent some of their practise time doing their regular skills which included stop- ping, turning and even skating backwards. They added new skills to further their ability and were seen stick handling and taking shots on net and enjoying it. Seeing improvements for Don Forder Insurance was Matthew Cracknell and Chad Lance. Scugog Overhead Doors had a good showing from Matthew Mac- Master, Joel VanCamp and Nicholas Pelyk. Kinsmen had Aaron Chambers and Greg Bruton looking good, Ryan Jansen and Bryon Braun for Dowson's Valu-Mart. The advanced tykes looked great as they skated with ease and show- ed great ability in their skills. They did their forward, backward and power skating drills with ease. Skating around the pylons seemed to be done with ease as they had no problems with their turns. On Saturday the advanced tykes saw more ice time and used it wise- ly as they put together a game. They played through the various positions on the team giving the boys a lesson on the game of hockey. Showing great ability for Brooks Feeds was Steven Martyn, Wyatt Park and Shane Savage. C.A.W. 222 team is seeing steady improvement from Alex Dell, Jonathan Froats, Adam Hobbs, Jonathon Chambers and lan Parlia- ment. Good work tykes' Oldtimers victory Port Perry Oldtimers attended their first tournament for their 1987/88 hockey season in Woodville, November 24 through 27 and brought the silverware home to Port Perry. ; They defeated Beaverton in their first game 5-2 on Thursday night in Woodville. Saturday saw them face the Lake of Bays team and they came away with a 3 to 1 victory and Saturday evening in Cannington they defeated Scarboro 8 to 1. This put them in the final against the Beaverton team again on Sun- day in Woodville. A hard fought game which they won 2 to 1.
