Russell was a long time resident and farmer in Ashburn, and in recent years has been aresi- dent of Fairview Lodge, Whitby. The Eleanor Knight Group of the Women's Missionary Society met at the home of Ray Death last Wednes- day afternoon, with 8 ladies present. Lois Daw convened the meeting and opened with prayer. Ray Death was in charge of the devotions. Instead of our regular study, we drew up our agenda for the year. Our hostess served us lovely refreshments and we enjoyed a social half hour. Our February meeting will be held at the home of Lois Daw. The Ladies Bible Class will meet on Wednesday afternoon of this week at 2 o'clock at the church. Ladies high was Bessie Spencer, second was Earla Hill and low was Dora Geer. And the men with the help of the ladies saw Irwin Kydd first, second was "Clarence Butson and Caroline Haugh was low. Sorry to hear about Mabel Cawker, she had the misfortune to fall and break her hip. Mabel writes the news for Nestleton-Caesarea area and a good writer too. Dorothy Hargrove was down from Toronto on Sunday and had lunch with Hazel Brooks before visiting her Mom, Mabel Strong in hospital. In the absence of our minister Rev. McEntyre, we were pleased to welcome to Burns pulpit last Sunday morning Heather Jones from Presbyterian World Development Services. Moyra Griffen and Lois Daw read the scripture readings. The Senior Choir sang "F'ill My Cup Lord." Our special thoughts and prayers are with Rev. McEntyre during his recuperation from recent surgery. Next Sunday, the Gideons will be with us for morning worship. Burns annual congregational meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 5. Existing routes will not be altered to accomodate French Immersion pupils. CLASS SIZE The maximum size of a unit of Kindergarten is 23 pupils. A Unit will not'be established with less than 20 pupils enrolled. Pupils in excess of the class maximum of 23 will be wait-listed.
