One day its nice and wintery and then the next it is like spring weather. On Monday January 18 was our * monthly Resident Council meeting. The majority ruled that they wanted all televisions serviced. Also the Science Centre trip was discussed. Later on in the evening the monthly birthday party was sponsored by the Oddfellows Lodge. Everyone certainly enjoyed the sing-song, poem readings and stories. Cake and ice-cream was certainly favoured by everyone. Tuesday was bowling. Con- gratulations to our top scorer Lionel Blaikie with 95 pts. Afterwards we had a Trivia game to test their knowledge. In the evening the Port Perry Baptist Church provided a lovely service. ' The following day was a sing- song. To accompany our voices we had the delightful piano playing by Mrs. Claire Whitter. Several of the ole' songs brought back fond memories. After dinner hours was a Bingo. Friday (22nd) was a fun day. It was declared Hat Day. A variety of games were played throughout the afternoon. Also there was a Hat parade which hosted several prize winners. Congratulations to our lucky residents -- D. Spencley, E. Post, L. Blaikie and also to staff win- ners -- Ruby, Karyn, Barb. Monday January 25 was another bowling session. Congratulations to our top scorer. Tuesday was a busy day with our trip into the city to the Ontario Science Centre. We managed to see most of the exhibits and squeezed in a few shows and demonstrations. Everyone's favourite area was the old steam-engines, old airplanes and other vehicles. None-the-less we had a good time and arrived back home just in time for supper-tired but hungry. After supper hour the Port Perry United Church provided a service. : Wednesday was a Bingo in the afternoon and then in the evening was a euc . Thursgdy we had a craft session. The créft group was busy making napkin holders and favours for Valentines Day. Later on in the afternoon was spent doing resident odd jobs such as cleaning out bed- -side tables and closets. Throughout the evening was a Pub Night. Several residents enjoyed sitting . and talking with each other while sipping away on a few drinks. They also were provided with some delightful entertainment by-Mrs. Adams and Friends. i The final day was a Discussion Group with the main topic being up- to-date Current Events. Birthday wishes are extended to Miss Joan Tuck (Feb. 9) and Mrs. Isabel Wright (11). Upcoming events are Send a Flower & Send a Song Day (Feb. 9), Seniors by Marion Webster The Senior Citizens met on Wednesday Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. Our president Clara Warren opened the meeting with O'Canada. She then welcomed everyone present. After the meeting the Seniors entertained the Friendly Visitors with a sing- dong and games. At 5730 everyone sat down to a delicious pot luck supper -- it was enjoyed by all. A member of Friend- ly Visitors thanked the Seniors for a lovely time and dinner. Do not forget our euchre next Wed.
