» t § ps Si Wood carving has been a great "retirement toric" for Armour McMillan of Greenbank. His finely crafted team of horses or oxen are being snapped up by collectors. Armour took up this hobby about ten years ago, and getting ready to celebrate his 80th bir- thday in a few short weeks, he still devotes many hours to his wood carving. (See story). Well, four years later the tonic is still working and Armour is still going strong with his delightful and detailed creations in wood. Now just a few weeks shy of his 80th birthday, Armour says his health is pretty good and he's quite content to while away the long winter days and evenings in the workshop in the basement of his home near Greenbank. "It's just a hobby for me. It developed by my doing it. I work at it because I enjoy it," he said with a shrug. A life-long resident of the Greenbank area, Armour farmed for many years and then worked for a farm implement dealership. He said he never had any par- ticular skills as a carpenter or wood worker as a young man. But he believes his life-long interest in farming, livestock and his ex- (Turn to page 14) Custom Tailored To Your Needs. Now! The Standard Trust MORE SERVICES No fees! Instant Tax Receipts.
