Pee Wee B's never say die Last Wednesday night the Stone Realty Pee Wee's travelled to Bewdley for their first playoff meeting with this team. 3 The boys got off to a sluggish start and were trailing 4-1 going into the third period, but they were able to reach down for that little extra to score 4 unanswered goals to win the game 5-4. Brendon Agnew scored the last 2 goals for Port, the last with on- ly 29 seconds left. Sean McEnaney, Jody Logan, and Adam Johnston scored the other goals for Stone. Jody also added 3 assists while both Sean and Chad Garvock added two. Ken Winslow and Brendon Agnew pit- ched in with one assist each. On Friday night Bewdley returned to Port for a rematch. Once again the boys put forth a lackadasical effort only this time they were not able to pull off any last minute heroics losing 3-2. Adam Johnston scored Port's first goal from Jeff Card. Sean McEnaney finished off the scor- ing as Stone had the goalie pulled for the extra attacker. Adam Johnston and Jody Logan picked up the assists. On Saturday night the Stone gang hosted Omemee. The boys put out a much better effort in this game and it showed in the final result and they won 3-0. Ken Winslow opened the scoring in the first period off a nice setup by Jody Logan. Steve Desautels also picked up an assist. The score re- mained 1-0 until the third period when Kenny scored his second goal assisted by Sean McEnaney. Adam Johnston finished off the scoring on a nice breakaway goal with Jason Coutoulakis and Chad Garvock picking up the assists. Steve Stiles earned the teams 9th shut-out of the year. The next game for Stone is in Omemee on Wednesday night and then they are at home on Friday night at 8'oclock against Orono. This should be a very exciting game as these two teams have been battling each other all year long. Port won the last meeting between these two teams to open the playoffs. Hope to see you there as the boys could use your support. Atoms bow out Two round robin losses this week eliminated the Malmont Farms Atoms from further OMHA playoff action this season. Wednesday night at home, Port started strongly but eventually lost control of the game, losing 4-1 to Cobourg. With Kenton LeFort on the sick list, Craig Laird filled the gap well, playing a strong game and setting up Port's only goal. Craig took a Joe Broadworth pass at the blue line and fired a perfect pass to the side of the net, from where Dave Bourgeois fired it home. \ Friday night, in Stouffville, a shorthanded Malmont team again started well before being thumped 11-2. ' Chad Kearns and Clay Scott were away and Kenton was unable to continue after two periods. An opening goal by Joe from Mike Labanovich and Davey was soon overcome, then a quick 3 goal barrage led to com- plete take over by the Clippers. Jeremy Norton scored Port's se- cond goal from Davey and Scott Heasman. Eagles win The Port Perry Eagles increas- ed their Midget round robin lead to four points with a rough and tumble 4-1 victory over Cobourg. The game started off with hard hitting in the first period which gradually deteriorated to chippy and rough play by the third. Both teams took 46 minutes in minor penalties in the 45 minute game. Scoring for Port Perry were Clair Cornish from Andrew Steele and Derek Fitzgerald, Warren Geer twice, with Kevin Gibson assisting on his first one and John Lally doing the same on the se- cond goal. Port's final marker - was a tally from Lally with a helper from Paul Wylie. The Eagles finish up the round robin portion of the playoffs by hosting Stouffville Monday night and then visiting Cobourg tonight at 8:45 int what could be another rough and ragged affair. Upon completion of this series, the top two teams face each other in a best of five with the winner" (survivor?) advancing to the OMHA quarter finals."
