Word has been received that Mrs. Ella Slack of Beamsville passed away last week. She and her husband Charlie lived at Ash- burn one time, having lived in the house now occupied by the Flem- ings. Ken and Elaine Heron of Brace- bridge visted with Rose Heron over the week-end, also visiting with Ted at Whitby General Hos- pital. Last Sunday the Sacrament of Holy Communion was celebrated at Burns Church. Rev. McEntyre is beginning a Lenten series of sermons titled "What Has the Church to Offer"? His sermon subject last Sunday was "A Credi- ble Religion." the Jr. Choir sang "I'd like to Teach the World to Sing". Sharmen Porter and Burt Carr read the Scripture portions.
