8 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, February 23, 1988 Letters More homes needed (From page 6) engineering, one thousand dollars for administration, one thousand dollars for Scugog Park levy, 710 dollars for Regional levy, one thousand dollars for Scugog general levy. If it takes another year to develop this, of course the carry- ing costs have to be added on. This could amount to approx- imately eighteen thousand dollars per lot per year. It is therefore, quite obvious that time is of the essence for the benefit of our home purchasers, not the developing company, not the government, but our home purchasers. Most important, if this develop- ment is required to go to OMB because of objections either from people, or from any level of government, it could easily add an additional five to six thousand dollars per lot. It is because of these factors that I write your newspaper, wishing to point out to the readers how important time is in getting building lots processed and into the buyers hands. More important in Scugog Township where there is such a shortage of building lots available, the prices have risen astronomically. It is our hope that we will have co-operation from the public and from Scugog Council in making this development become a reali- ty for many young people who are presently waiting to build on those lots. Yours very truly, D.W. Wilson Oshawa, Ontario Thanks for the support To the editor: I wish to make it known pub- licly to all those people who kindly supported me on the Snowarama ride for Easter Seals this year. As you know, the organized ride early in February had to be cancelled due to a lack of snow. However, along with other riders, I have kept my promise to you, the 173 people who sponsored me for a total of $1656. I am sure the Easter Seal chil- dren in the future, as they have in the past, will greatly benefit from this support. I am looking forward to 1989 ~ lo continue the support for Easter Scals through the Port Perry Snowarama. Sincerely, : Marion Lee (member) Port Perry Snowmobile Club. Disabled research To The Editor: I am researching a book on the subject of disability insurance, a major issue for disabled people in Ontario who were in the workforce prior to becoming disabled. To understand this issue thoroughly, I wish to hear from as many disabled people as possible who have attempted to collect disability insurance benefits as part of an employee benefit package. I am interested most in the ex- perience they had with their par- ticular insurance corfipany, their employer and the steps that were taken to resolve the claim. I do not wish to know anything about their personal incomes. All information received will be kept confidential. Permission will be sought on an individual basis to use any personal information in a publication. Thank you for your considera- tion of this matter for publication in your newspaper.
