The development would take place on about ten acres of land owned by Mr. Mochring where the Conway Restaurant, Bayshore Takeout and Car wash are now lo- cated. The commercial part of the project would be along the high- way, while the condominiums and apartment buidlings would be closer to the shore of Lake Scu- gog. Total construction cost for this project has been estimated in the $20 million range. Township council agreed to support the Official Plan amend- mott and planners and architects working for the developer. Mr. McDermott told council the developer has agreed to several significant changes to original plans that were submitted. One major change reduces the number of condominium build- ings from four to three to allow more open space to the project. Durham Police said a 72-year old Barrie man died instantly early Friday afternoon when his car went out of control on the snow-covered road and hit a southbound truck loaded with sand. 2, SOA Danie] Brown died in the crash and his 66 year old wife Doris was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto in critical condition. : Police said the driver of the southbound truck, Raymond Green, 29, of Erin, Ontario, suffered minor injyrice in the crash. i od The accident took place shortly after 1:00 PM in what police described as poor driving conditions about three-quarters of a mile north of Taunton ad. : .
