Afterwards a Trivia quiz was given. In the evening the Greenbank United Church provid- ed a wonderful church service. Wednesday afternoon was kept busy 'decorating the lobby's for the upcoming "St. Patricks Day." A craft session was held on Thursday. We were all busy work- ing on stuffing cushions and duck door stops. Also some of the ladies made table favours and table cen- trepieces. In the evening was a Bingo. To end this final week we hosted 2 interesting activities. For the ladies we had a make-up demonstration and for the men there were mens games. Special upcoming events from March 2 to March 15 are Out for Lunch (8), Monthly Birthday Par- ty (9), and the Irish Buck Auction (15). Mrs. Faye Ashton was hostess for a Bridal Shower for Miss Stacey Brown on Saturday. Joan and Jennifer Asling, Hanover, Mrs. Olive Barton, Ux- bridge, and Miss Laura Cording- ly, Sandford, had lunch on Sunday with Don and Stella Asling. Miss Jan Asling of Toronto called on her grandparents in the after- noon. Dr. Pat Asling had lunch with Don and Stella on Wednes- day. Don and Stella visited sister- in-law Hazel Asling of Ajax on Tuesday. Alan and Norine Card were guests with Eric and Dianne Benns to celebrate Robin Benns' birthday. We are pleased to learn that PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, March 1, 1988 -- 19 UCW plans a delicious dessert meeting Mr. Howard Gourlie is home from a visit to Uxbridge Hospital. March 2 is Open House at the Epsom-Utica Day Care Centre. You are invited. Now we did have a fantastic party at Epsom Social Club on Sat. evening, winners of Chef's honours - 1st - Frank Van Veghel, ond - Fred Van Udin, 3rd - Bill McKay. We learned some new games and had rounds of fun before lunch. Then all added a few thousand calories. It was mouth- watering and delicious. Church at Utica 11:15 a.m. next Sunday. The Canadian Food Grains Bank will be bagging corn at Uxbridge Co-op from March 7-12. ' Epsom-Utica Church is asked to bag on Thursday, March 10 at 1 p.m. Contact Earl Taylor if you can help. Each group will bag 500 bags. The Saturday bagging will start at 9 a.m.. Next Sunday a guest speaker from Canadian Food Grains Bank will tell us the need for and, what will happen to the corn we ship this year to Angola & Mali. 11:15 Utica Church. The Music Festival was again a huge success with several from the Epsom area winning a prize.' Those winning prizes for play- ing the piano were: Michael Wilson, Jeffrey Postma, Christy and Danny Mahlberg. Steve Postma won a prize for singing. One of our highlights of our Ep- som party last week was a piano solo by Sally Irving. I slipped up Sally, but we sure enjoyed your number. Mrs. Glady$ Evans had supper on Sunday evening with Ross and Barb Evans and family. The Youth Group was a fun fill- ed weekend for about twelve of our young people who invaded Kerry Castle, at Emsdale. Thanks to the wonderful leader- ship of Arnold & Gail Kerry, Glen and Nancy Waterman who also chaperoned the group.
